The B/R NFL Scouting Department ranks Polk as the No. 8 wideout and No. 41 overall player on its 2024 big board.
The 6'2", 204-pound wideout started making waves for the Huskies in 2022 when he caught 41 passes for 694 yards and six touchdowns. However, his 69/1,159/9 season in 2023 put him on the NFL draft map. Now he's parlaying an excellent season into a pro career.
The B/R NFL Scouting Department currently has Polk as a Round 2 draft choice. B/R's Derrik Klassen offered the following breakdown:
"Polk is a ball-winning No. 2 WR in the NFL. He can dunk on DBs down the field and in the red zone, as well as serve as an underneath bully type on the outside to help move the chains. Polk may not be the star in an NFL offense, but he can be a reliable high-level contributor."
Polk, who turns 22 in April, also appears to have the requisite intangibles to excel at the next level.
"JP is one of the toughest, strongest kids we have on the football team," Washington offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb said in September, per Roman Tomashoff of Inside the Huskies. "That type of mindset, leadership and ability, we know when a play has to be made and the ball has to come his way, we know JP is going to make the play."
Polk's collegiate career closed on a bittersweet note, but a potentially prosperous NFL chapter has now begun as he begins his pro journey.
