How the Santonio Holmes Deal Impacts the Brandon Marshall Trade Market
Late last night, the NFL was hit with another blockbuster... Well, sort of. No, it's not Brandon Marshall, or Albert Haynesworth.
Instead, it's Santonio Holmes leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers for the New York Jets.
The former Super Bowl hero was dealt to the Jets for only a fifth round pick, sources say.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap šø
As the league digests this trade, this deal has the most impact on the trade market of disgruntled receiver Brandon Marshall.
Late last week, I pointed out how his market is too quiet. With only Seattle emerging as a candidate for his services, there must be a wild card involved in this.
However, Denver's chances of trading him took a hit when this Holmes deal went down.
The Broncos still want a first round pick for Marshall (no change yet), which may have to change.
If you compare Holmes and Marshall, they are similar in many ways. Both are going on age 26, have off-field issues, and are pure No. 1 targets.
Though Marshall's stats turn out to be slightly better then Holmes', the market takes a drastic change.
Unless Seattle pulls the trigger by dealing a first round pick, it may be time for the Broncos to lower their asking price.
Many experts still insist Marshall will be dealt before the draft.
If the price is lowered to a second round pick, and conditional picks, then more would be interested.
The Dolphins, who are primed for a top target for Chad Henne, could pull in.
And I am saying this all along. If Denver lowers their asking price, watch out for the New England Patriots, as they have draft picks to trade.
It will be interesting with 10 days until the NFL Draft begins, what happens with receiver Brandon Marshall.
Most people close to the situation believe he will be dealt. Will a new team emerge in the hunt for Marshall?
We will have to wait and see, but the Santonio Holmes deal to the Jets will surely have an impact on the market, along with Denver's asking price for the troubled receiver.
