Tim Tebow: Bold Predictions for Denver Broncos in NFL Wild Card Round (Updated)
Tim Tebow is in a position few—if any—thought he'd be in. With the regular season over, Tebow and his 8-8 Denver Broncos have clinched the AFC West and will host the Pittsburgh Steelers next weekend.
Denver hasn't hosted a playoff game since 2005 and fans in the Rocky Mountain State have eagerly been awaiting their Mile High Messiah to come and deliver them from disappointment year in and year out.
This team has done what many thought impossible and many believe it's going to be one-and-done for Tim Tebow & Company in this year's playoffs.
I'm not one of them.
Join me as I present to you the boldest predictions for Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos in this year's playoffs.
Denver Will Face Pittsburgh in Wild Card Round
1 of 5Denver is in the playoffs as the No. 4 seed and as such will host the No. 5 seed. That No. 5 seed always looked to be whatever team finished as the runner-up in the AFC North.
Because Baltimore has the tie-breaker against Pittsburgh, the Steelers will head to Mile High instead of the Ravens.
That means that a banged-up Ben Roethlisberger, who won't be getting any rest because his team will be fighting for AFC North for the next two weeks, will hobble his way to Denver and subject himself to the same kind of punishment he's suffered all season long.
Pittsburgh doesn't have a strong-enough offensive line to protect Big Ben and Denver's defense is every bit as tenacious as any in the AFC North, meaning that...
Von Miller Will Have at Least 3 Sacks
2 of 5...Von Miller will smell blood in the water and go on a tear against the Steelers.
The Broncos are matched up against a team that can't protect their quarterback (Roethlisberger's been sacked 38 times so far this season).
Miller will have a field day, recording at least three sacks in the Wild Card game. Pittsburgh's left tackle position has been a revolving door this season with Max Starks and Jonathan Scott providing spells for one another and neither cementing themselves into the spot.
Willis McGahee Will Rush for More Than 100 Yards
3 of 5Pittsburgh hasn't allowed a 100-yard rusher since October 2 when Arian Foster ran all over the Steelers for 155 yards.
It will happen again, this time with Willis McGahee.
McGahee has gone over the century mark six times this year. With Tebow opening up the passing game, it's only more likely that McGahee will have a field day against the Steelers—a team the former Baltimore Ravens is all too familiar with.
Also on Denver's side is the fact that Pittsburgh has had trouble against strong, pounding running backs like McGahee all season. Cedric Benson averaged four yards a rush in both games this season. Ray Rice averaged four yards as well. Arian Foster, who is within five pounds of being the exact same size as McGahee, rushed for more yards against Pittsburgh than any other running back.
Pittsburgh will have trouble against McGahee and it will clear the way for Tebow.
Tim Tebow Will Account for Over 275 Total Yards in Wild Card Game
4 of 5With Willis McGahee having a strong day on the ground, Tim Tebow will be freed up to have one of his best performances all season.
Tebow, who has averaged over 215 total yards in each of the last four games, will be a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs. He'll get it done in the air and on the ground and come close to 300 total yards for his Broncos.
Denver Will Win and Travel to Baltimore for Divisional Round
5 of 5The Broncos will win in the opening round of the playoffs.
But because Houston is limping in as the No. 3 seed, I think they'll lose to the No. 6 seed (the Cincinnati Bengals) and allow Denver to face the No. 2 seed—the Baltimore Ravens.
Can Tim Tebow & Company defeat two AFC North teams in a row?
Bonus bold prediction—the Broncos will go to Baltimore, win against the Ravens and face the No. 1 seed New England Patriots for a chance to go to the Super Bowl.
These are my bold predictions, but what do you think?
