Jacksonville Jaguars: Coaches and Players That Should Be on Their 2012 Wish List
The holiday season sure gets you thinking about gifts, good food and spending time with the family.
It also makes you think of the coming year, changes and resolutions.
In the case of the Jacksonville Jaguars, it could be the key to a new beginning, and with holiday wish lists flying all around by people both young and old, wishes granted may lead fans to join the bandwagon again.
Who knows, maybe wishes by new team owner Shahid Khan will give insight into how the man from the Midwest will make a big splash, keep the team in Jacksonville and have us looking at the playoffs in a very short time.
Alshon Jeffery, South Carolina
2 of 10I believe Justin Blackmon will be gone by the fifth selection, which means right now, the Jaguars miss out on him.
Alshon Jeffery has cooled off a bit on some draft boards, but look at the situation in Columbia?
The secondaries have keyed on him all season and the quarterback play has been suspect. He is still an elite talent.
Jonathan Martin, Stanford
3 of 10If the big left tackle is on the board when the Jaguars draft, say around 7th or 8th, this might be a hard one to pass up.
Martin has helped keep Andrew Luck upright. And while the play of Eugene Monroe has improved, Eben Britton is a huge question mark.
This draft choice does make sense.
Tony Dungy
4 of 10A pipe dream at best, but this is a "wish" list.
Dungy's demeanor would energize this city and bring people to the seats.
This is one of those cases where the city can hope for this until the cows come home.
Dungy was once a candidate to be the Jaguars first head coach. But it will never happen.
Harry Douglas, Atlanta Falcons
5 of 10Douglass is the third receiver in the Falcons air attack. If Mike Mularkey gets the head job in Jacksonville, he could be an option to give the Jaguars a good set of hands and some decent speed.
Marques Colston, New Orleans Saints
6 of 10If there are issues in contract negotiations, I guess the Saints would franchise Marques Colston.
He is tall, lean and speedy and gives the Jaguars the threat on the outside it has been lacking since Jimmy Smith retired.
Rex Ryan, New York Jets
7 of 10I don't think this is as crazy as it sounds.
Ryan shoots him mouth off. The defense is not as strong as it used to be and the quarterback play is suspect at times.
Has Ryan worn out his welcome in New York?
If he has and he for some reason is let go, then the Jaguars should jump right in and scoop him up.
Tim Tebow, Denver Broncos
8 of 10As long as he wins in Denver, fans here in Jacksonville will say management made a very bad decision.
And as long as Blaine Gabbert is mediocre, they will want the hometown hero to be playing in their stadium.
Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts
9 of 10Could he be traded?
Better yet, would the Jaguars make a play for him even if he was half as good as he was before the neck surgery?
If he is even half of his old self, he is better than any quarterback the Jaguars have ever had.
Pierre Garcon, Indianapolis Colts
10 of 10Even if the last scenario is not even a possibility, Garcon makes sense.
He is a fleet-footed receiver and can be a motivator to former Mount Union alum Cecil Shorts.
Two good receivers for Blaine Gabbert to work with.
