NFL Playoff Picture: Stock Watch for Every Bubble Team

Chris TrapassoDec 20, 2011

The Cincinnati Bengals, Tennessee Titans, Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants are certainly not out of the playoff hunt, but they'll have to create some magic in the final two weeks and get some help from the teams in front of them to sneak in.

It's that simple.

Let's take a look at where the stock of each of these clubs stands after Week 15's action.

Cincinnati Bengals

1 of 4

The Bengals weren't necessarily impressive against the lowly Rams on Sunday, but they got the job done and moved to 8-6.

Andy Dalton didn't have his best game, but he found A.J. Green six times for 115 yards, and Cedric Benson scored to lead the Bengals to victory.

They finish the season with home contests against the resurgent Arizona Cardinals and a Baltimore Ravens club in the thick of the AFC North title race.

It's not going to be easy over the last two weeks, and they'll need the Jets to lose at least one game, but they're headed in the right direction after losing four of their last five before the St. Louis win.

Tennessee Titans

The Titans were outclassed in nearly every phase of the game in Indianapolis and were humiliated at the worst possible time.

A playoff team wins that game against the 0-13 Colts.

Now at 7-7, Tennessee will have to win their final two games against the Jaguars at home and the Texans on the road and get major help from both the Jets and Bengals.

Nothing against Matt Hasselbeck—he's quietly pieced together a fine season—but I'd like to see Jake Locker behind center.

He's looked great in the last two games.

New York Giants

Another team that had a prime opportunity to make life easier for themselves over the final two weeks that came out completely flat against an underdog in Week 15.

Anyone else have the Redskins winning 23-10 to complete the season sweep of the Giants?

Didn't think so.

Eli Manning threw three interceptions with no touchdowns for the first time in his career, and the secondary made Rex Grossman look much better than he really is.

A Big Apple battle with the Jets could essentially the determine the playoff fate for both NYC clubs, but they will have a chance to sneak into the playoffs in the final week when the rival Cowboys come to town.

Winners of five of their last six, the Seahawks are among the league's hottest teams.

Marshawn Lynch and the surprisingly stout defense have led the charge, and Tarvaris Jackson is doing a magnificent job of managing games.

They faced an injury-ravaged Bears team in Chicago on Sunday and were clearly the more complete club, outscoring the Bears 31-0 after Lovie Smith's club got out to a 14-7 lead.

Caleb Hanie once again proved he is not an NFL starter, throwing three interceptions, and even Josh McCown was picked off.

A month ago, a 49ers-Seahawks game in Week 16 looked to be a laugher, but now it's one of the battles I'll be surely keeping a close eye on this weekend.

Qwest Field will be rocking.
