Why Tim Tebow Will Be the NFL MVP...Next Year
Some experts are putting Tebow in some serious MVP talk, even though his ability to effectively pass consistently might be suspect.
Though I'm a big fan of Tebow, the odds on favorite to win the MVP is Aaron Rodgers, who has put up insane numbers for a one-loss defending Super Bowl Champion.
This year may not be Tebow's year to dawn the label of MVP of the NFL but here are reasons why next year, it could be all his.
An Entire Off-Season
1 of 7With the lockout keeping players out of training camps and practices, this hurt Tim Tebow. With a whole off-season of mini-camps and practices, Tim Tebow will be able to mold his game into that of a real NFL quarterback.
Also, Tebow will know going into the training camp that he is the starter. You can look for Tebow to take full advantage of every practice and camp and become a complete passer and field general of the Broncos offense.
Management Will Finally Believe
2 of 7Throughout the 2011 season, Denver Broncos GM John Elway has been very critical of Tim Tebow and had not been selling the idea of having Tebow as the future quarterback of the Broncos.
Now, it seems that Elway is starting to gain confidence in Tebow down the stretch of the season, and will not draft a quarterback with the Broncos first-round pick.
This confidence will give Tebow an edge on the playing field. It will be nice knowing that the front office is supporting him next season.
Weak Division
3 of 7This year's AFC West is the NFC West of last year.
A team with a record of .500 might win it.
For Tebow, this helps him in a year in which he is still learning how to throw the football.
In AFC West, the Oakland Raiders rank 27th in the NFL in overall defense. The Kansas City Chiefs rank 16th and the San Diego Chargers rank 11th in the same category.
This benefits Tebow next year, as he will hopefully be much better at throwing the ball against a division that doesn't have the greatest of defenses.
Also, Tebow has won on the road against every team in the division this year. So, next year, Tebow should have no problem on repeating that trend.
2012 NFL Draft
4 of 7With the upcoming 2012 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos will put the pieces in place for Tim Tebow to succeed.
Perhaps, drafting another big-time wide receiver will be in the cards.
Last year the Broncos got Von Miller in the draft and Denver's defense has quietly become one of the best in the league. With the defense gaining one more year of experience and Broncos management putting the pieces around Tebow, next year could be big.
Momentum
5 of 7Tim Tebow was riding a 6-game winning streak going into Sunday's eventual loss to the New England Patriots. But this is only a blip on the Tebow Mania momentum. T
Tebow is 7-2 as a starter in the NFL this season and has thrown for 11 touchdowns and two interceptions in his 9 starts.
Tebow seems as if he is going back to his college days at the University of Florida— once he gets hot, there is not a defense that can stop him.
With Tebow, it comes down to how he performs in the final weeks of the regular season and possibly the playoffs. I believe he plays well, builds off that momentum, and can have an MVP season in 2012.
Media Attention
6 of 7With any NFL MVP, they seemingly never flying under the radar.
The media buzz surrounding an MVP is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is that, this year, Tebow is not a serious contender for the MVP, yet he still seems to get more media hype than actual MVP contenders.
The media is in love with Tebow, and this relationship can help make him the future NFL MVP in 2012.
He Can Do the Unthinkable
7 of 7A lot of people said Tebow would not be able to win at the NFL level.
What has Tebow done?
Win.
People said Tebow couldn't throw the ball, and what does Tebow do, throws the ball pretty darn well against the New York Jets.
Whatever Tebow has done in the fourth quarter is something that the NFL has never seen before. Tebow has shattered the mold of the expected sit-in-the-pocket-and-throw NFL quarterback.
Tebow has the mental focus unlike anyone I have ever seen in the NFL. The ability for him to block out distractions and just play football is remarkable. He turns his critics into believers and takes his haters comments and makes it his own personal duty to prove them wrong.
Say what you want, but watch out for Tim Tebow next season.
Keep doubting the magic of Tebow and he will prove to all that he can become an NFL MVP.
