NBA Trade Rumors: Blockbuster Deals That Will Reshape NBA Landscape
Rumors are flying in the NBA, but there are only a few blockbuster deals that could reshape the league if they actually came to fruition.
With the shortened offseason due to the lockout, the frenzy around the free agency pool and the trade market is unlike anything we have seen in the NBA before.
Players like Dwight Howard and Chris Paul are the main event, but there are other players that could play a serious starring role on a new team.
The following deals are so monumental that if they did happen, the NBA as we know it would never be the same again. Cue the dramatic music.

Dwight Howard to New Jersey Nets
1 of 5The New York Nets are trying their hardest to make a huge splash in the NBA and become a legitimate franchise. Adding Dwight Howard would do that.
With Jay-Z’s pop-culture pull and their Russian billionaire owner’s money, the move to Brooklyn with Howard and Deron Williams could have the Nets considered one of the league’s best.
While Howard would get much better opportunities if he waits until he hits free agency in 2012, the Magic want to get something in return if he does walk. That’s where the Nets come in.
Chris Paul to Los Angeles Clippers
2 of 5The Los Angeles Clippers are in the same boat as the New Jersey Nets, holding onto a dying franchise that needs a huge spark to become relevant again.
If the league would back off their demands for the soon to be free-agent Chris Paul, the Clippers could get the point guard they need to feed Blake Griffin alley-oops.
Los Angeles is a big enough market to convince Paul to stay long term and turn a floundering Clippers team into one of the league’s elite. Like an episode of the twilight zone.
Jamal Crawford to New York Knicks
3 of 5The New York Knicks were allergic to defense last season, but signing Jamal Crawford to a short-term deal may be the kind of move that changes that mindset.
While Crawford isn’t the best defender, he works hard and that’s something that Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire have lacked during their time together.
Crawford would also add skill and depth to the weak guard positions on the Knicks, but it will be his versatility that makes the difference between the Knicks getting to the Conference Finals or not.
Andre Iguodala to Golden State Warriors
4 of 5This was a deal from last season that both teams were very close to pulling off. Both teams are in new directions this season, but if things take a turn for the worse in either city, expect the talks to resume.
If Golden State lacks one thing more than anything else, it’s a lack of defense in any shape or form. When Mark Jackson sees the backcourt of Stephen Curry and Monta Ellis in action, he will force management to make a trade.
Philadelphia can give the Warriors a defensive star in Andre Iguodala, who can be a great asset to them while getting back Monta Ellis, the scorer they lack on the perimeter.
Rajon Rondo to Oklahoma City
5 of 5While trade talks concerning Rajon Rondo have cooled off dramatically, if we learned anything from the Kendrick Perkins deal last season, don’t think any deal in Boston is dead.
The Celtics are trying to get better in a hurry. One of the ways they feel that can happen would be trading Rondo to the OKC Thunder for their point guard Russell Westbrook.
As odd as this deal seems, it actually makes sense if there were other pieces involved. Kevin Durant would get the true point guard he needs to be GoaT material and the Celtics would get the scoring guard that can take pressure off all the old men.
