Why Tim Tebow is Wise to Credit Denver Broncos Teammates for Boosting His Stock
In an article by Michael David Smith of NBC Sports, Tim Tebow is quoted in his post-game press conference about his team:
"“I think my teammates make me look a lot better than I am." "I’m very proud of those guys. I think that is a character quality of a good team. If you’re able to do it when it really matters, usually you can find a way. We’ve just got to get better at doing it for four quarters.”
"
Smith quoted at the end of the article:

""I don’t think it’s ‘Tebow Time,’” Tebow said. “I just think it’s ‘Bronco Time,’ and the team steps up as a team.”

That said, Tim Tebow is 100 percent correct. Now, without a doubt he has most definitely been a major contributor to the Broncos recent success, but a lot of credit must be given elsewhere.
For one, the defense.
In Denver's last eight games they are 7-1 and have won five games on the road. Six of those seven wins have come by four points or less and in all the wins, The Orange Crush has allowed an average of just 16.7 points per game, and in five of the seven games they've allowed no more than 15 points.
Also, the defense has vehemently stepped up when it comes to causing turnovers. Against the Raiders in Week 9 they picked off Carson Palmer three times and against the Jets CB Andre Goodman had an INT return for a TD.
Which ultimately was the difference as Denver won, 17-13.
Two weeks later against Minnesota, Denver was in a rare shootout but managed to pick off Christian Ponder twice, one of which was returned for a TD by LB Mario Haggan and then the game-sealer by Goodman.
Then against Chicago in Week 14, the forced fumble of Bears RB Marion Barber cause by LB Wesley Woodyard. All together that's seven major turnovers that have propelled the Broncos to victory along with Tebow's late-game antics.
Include kicker Matt Prater, who's literally been money from long range all season and you can't go wrong. Make no mistake about it, Tim Tebow has been one of the NFL's best players when the fourth quarter begins.
But his come-from-behind wins have been greatly assisted and setup for him by the rest of the team as well. In The Mile High City it's a complete team effort going on right now, not just Tebowmania.
