WWE 12: Brock Lesnar and Superstars We're Dying to See in Action
After weeks and months of hype, WWE 12 has finally hit store shelves and is sure to be bought up by WWE fans and gamers alike. There is no shortage of interesting new features, but I am most looking forward to trying out the newly-included characters.
THQ has compiled a fantastic roster of superstars, both past and present. In addition to all of the wrestlers that will be making their first appearance in a WWE game, there are also a number of legends that will be playable for the first time in a long time.
It may not appeal to everyone, but as a huge fan of old-school wrestling, the legends roster is one of the main things that make me excited for this game. While the create-a-wrestler feature has long been very comprehensive, nothing beats having the wrestlers already in the game.
THQ has traditionally been hit and miss when it comes to in-game models and movesets, so it will be interesting to see how well the newcomers are represented. Here are five superstars that we can't wait to see in action in WWE 12.
Sin Cara
1 of 5Sin Cara may be out for quite some time with a patella tendon rupture he suffered at Survivor Series, but that doesn't mean that you can't use him in WWE 12. The exciting luchador makes his first video game appearance in WWE 12 and should be a favorite among all gamers.
With his mysterious mask and dazzling moveset, Sin Cara almost seems like a character that was made especially for a video game. Sin Cara may not have gained traction as quickly as the WWE brass had hoped, but he has a good fan following and is certainly a diverse performer when compared to the rest of the roster.
Sin Cara's inclusion of the game figures to beef up the game's overall library of moves quite a bit, as he does things that few others in the company do or are capable of doing. Whether you're a fan of his character or not, Sin Cara is certain to be a dream for any WWE 12 gamer to play as.
Kharma
2 of 5It isn't often that people are excited about the inclusion of a diva in a WWE video game, but there has never been a diva quite like Kharma. Formerly known as Awesome Kong in TNA, Kharma took the divas division by storm in the spring, as she would often beat down unsuspecting divas following their matches.
Kharma seemed poised to rip through the entire roster, but a shocking real-life pregnancy forced her from the ring before she even wrestled an actual match. Kharma isn't likely to return to the WWE until spring 2012, or perhaps later, but she will be available as downloadable content in WWE 12.
Divas matches normally aren't much fun to play out in video games, but Kharma is likely to change that. Kharma possesses a powerful, high-impact moveset and is much bigger and stronger than the other divas. Because of that, it figures to feel like you're using a male wrestler against the divas when you select Kharma, and that should be a fairly entertaining experience.
Demolition
3 of 5Undoubtedly one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history, the flagship version of Demolition will be making its first appearance in a WWE video game. Demolition Smash was featured in the WWF Wrestlefest arcade game long ago, but was partnered with Crush rather than Ax.
The WWE's current tag-team division may be in shambles, but in WWE 12, you can breathe some much-needed new life into it with Demolition. This particular inclusion won't excite new fans, but every old-school fan has to be salivating at the prospect of Demolition walking menacingly toward the ring with their iconic theme song blaring in the background.
Demolition didn't always receive its due respect, as some considered it to be a rip off of the Legion of Doom. Once the Legion of Doom came to the WWE, Demolition's role diminished, but they became incredibly popular on their own accord. WWE 12 gives you the opportunity to pit the two legendary tag teams against one another, as the Legion of Doom is also included.
Randy
4 of 5Randy "Macho Man" Savage had long been on hiatus in terms of his involvement with the WWE, but that changed over the past year. Savage tragically died of a heart attack, but not before he made an agreement with the company that allowed it to use his likeness in action figures, video games and other merchandise.
Savage appeared in the recent WWE All Stars title, but this is his first inclusion in a true WWE simulation in quite some time. Savage is an absolute legend in the wrestling business, and both old and young fans alike have come to appreciate his accomplishments even more since his death.
Everything about Savage makes him a perfect character for a video game. His mannerisms were always entertaining and cartoonish in nature, his outfits were outrageous and his moveset was fantastic. Savage won't be readily available on the disc itself, but he will soon be available as downloadable content. That is certainly a smart move on THQ's part, as many fans will be more than willing to pay a couple bucks to unlock the character.
Brock Lesnar
5 of 5It wasn't long ago that "The Next Big Thing" took the WWE by storm. That, of course, was Brock Lesnar who rolled through essentially the entire roster en route to becoming a multi-time WWE Champion. Lesnar left the company in his prime to pursue other interests, however, namely football and eventually, mixed martial arts.
Lesnar went on to become a UFC Heavyweight Champion and has gained great success in his newest venture, but there is no question that the WWE machine made him what he is today. Because of that, Lesnar has paid it forward a bit in getting involved with WWE 12.
The inclusion of Lesnar is great because it appeals to old-school fans, current fans and fans of MMA. To make things even better, Lesnar is already included on the disc and can be used from day one. Whether you love him or hate him, Lesnar was one of the most dominant and fastest-rising forces the WWE has ever seen, and it will be extremely fun using his character in WWE 12.
