Week 11 NFL Picks: Division Leaders Who'll Bury Competition with Monster Wins

Kyle VassaloNov 19, 2011

It's only Week 11, but some teams are running away with their respective divisions. While divisions like the AFC West remain up for grabs, the disparity between the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in other divisions is borderline ridiculous.

There are divisions "races" in the NFL that only have one horse competing. This week, the carnage is going to get even worse, as the leaders in the standings will add to their ridiculous lead with monster wins.

Here are two division leaders who are going to increase their leads this week.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals

The 49ers are on the verge of clinching in the next couple of weeks. They're up five games already and the Cardinals have no shot of going into Candlestick and feeding the 49ers their second defeat of the season.

The 49ers still have yet to allow a rushing touchdown all season and the Cardinals aren't going to get anything going on the ground against the No. 1-ranked run defense.

That means a banged up Kevin Kolb or John Skelton will have to take it upon himself to win this game, and it's not going to happen.

Frank Gore is questionable, but he isn't expected to miss any time. The 49ers managed to take down the Giants with Gore amassing no yards and his reinsertion into the lineup is going to spell disaster for a Cardinals team that allows 123.1 rushing yards per game.

The undefeated Green Bay Packers get the luxury of facing a dejected and skidding Buccaneers squad that doesn't even look like they want to win. Albert Haynesworth can't save their 31st-ranked defense and Aaron Rodgers is going to have a field day picking apart their secondary.

LeGarrette Blount has to go up against a Green Bay run defense that allows just over 100 yards per game. It's going to be a long day for the Buccaneers and they face a long road to recovery once they fall two games below .500 in the brutal NFC South.

As for the Packers? They're cruising.

Green Bay has three-game leads over the 6-3 Bears and Lions, and they and aren't going to let them gain any ground this week.

It gives the rest of the NFC North even less time to play catch-up and the question is no longer whether or not the Packers will the division, but whether or not they can hold off the 49ers and earn home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
