Jets vs. Patriots: 3 Adjustments New York Should Make at Halftime
In a game where both teams have looked ugly in the offensive side, the New York Jets are trailing the New England Patriots 12-9 heading into halftime. The offense is finally starting to get into a rhythm to match the defense's strong effort, but there are still several things the Jets can improve on for the second half.
1. Protect Sanchez
New England’s Andre Carter has blown through the Jets’ offensive line on multiple occasions and left Mark Sanchez staring at the lights in MetLife stadium. Under pressure, Sanchez is known for making big mistakes. Though he’s avoided throwing any picks thus far, there have been some serious yards lost on plays where Sanchez has scrambled.

2. Secondary Needs to Step Up
Tom Brady has given the Jets secondary plenty of opportunities to make a big play on defense, but they have yet to capitalize. In addition, the Pats offense has caught them napping on multiple occasions, leading to easy receptions that should have been contested. How can the secondary let Chad Ochocino get going?
3. Go to Dustin Keller
While blossoming into one of the league’s best tight ends, Keller has also become one of Mark Sanchez’s most reliable targets, especially on third downs. Unfortunately for New York, Keller has only been targeted twice in this game and has only one catch to his credit. If Sanchez can involve Keller in the passing game with the wide receivers, the Patriots secondary is going to have a long night.
