Frank Gore Injury: Update on 49ers Star's Knee Injury
San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore came into his team's Week 10 game versus the New York Giants with an ankle injury, but suffered a knee injury during Sunday's game against the Giants.
Gore returned to the game in the second half despite the two injuries, but has been ineffective the entire game.
The 49ers are one of the best rushing teams in the NFL, so losing Gore would hurt their offense severely.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Fantasy Impact
Frank Gore has been a valuable fantasy football player this season, and coming into Sunday's game against the Giants he had rushed for at least 100 yards in five straight games.
On the season Gore has 791 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He is also a good pass-catching back, and has 13 receptions on the year.
Who's the Backup?
49ers running back Kendall Hunter is Gore's backup, and Hunter is a very good player. In the fourth quarter in Sunday's game, Hunter ran for a 17-yard touchdown to give the 49ers a 27-13 lead at the time.
Hunter came into the Giants game with a 4.5 yards per carry average.
Devastation Scale: 7 out of 10
The injury doesn't appear very serious but now that Gore is battling two injuries, the knee and ankle, it doesn't seem like he will be able to stay healthy this season.
The 49ers are a strong running team, and without Gore they lose their best offensive player. Quarterback Alex Smith has had a good season, but without Gore the 49ers offense isn't good enough to win in the playoffs.
The defense would be under a lot of pressure to win games if Gore misses time with an injury.
Timeline for Return
Frank Gore returned to the game in the second half, but with about three and a half minutes left in the fourth quarter he has six carries for zero yards.
What They're Saying
