Week 9 Fantasy Football Rankings: Frank Gore and RBs Guaranteed to Explode
If you had or played against LeSean McCoy last week, you know that having the right running back at the right time allows a lucky fantasy owner to coast to victory.
There is nothing better than having your running back carving up a defense at will. At the same time, there is nothing worse than feeling helpless against someone who has an every-down nightmare imposing his will upon a porous defense.
McCoy generated 185 rushing yards and two touchdowns against the former No. 1 run defense in the NFL. Let's take a look at the backs who are going to be off to the races this week.

Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Frank Gore has produced over 100 rushing yards and found the end zone in not one, not two, not three, but four straight games. Jim Harbaugh's unique formations featuring three tackles, defensive tackle Isaac Sopoaga, no receivers, four receivers, two tight ends, etc. have teams completely perplexed.
The 49ers are up against the Redskins this week, who happen to allow over 120 rushing yards per game. Though Kendall Hunter gets touches and the 49ers finally have a relatively healthy group of receivers, it's Gore's offense now more than ever.
This is the sort of offense that Mike Singletary wanted to run from the beginning. It's a smash-mouth offense that produces pedestrian passing numbers and a lethal run game. Gore's 100-yard streak is going to continue this week.
LeSean McCoy
I disrespected McCoy last week, thinking he was going to be snuffed out by Rob Ryan and the Cowboys' relentless run defense. Fool me once shame on you...You fool me you can't get fooled again.
The Eagles are within striking distance of grabbing hold of the wide-open NFC East. Just two games behind the Giants, the once dejected Eagles are making a push and gaining ground. They are showing flashes of the team we thought we were getting at the beginning of the season, and at the forefront of their success is McCoy.
Only Adrian Peterson bests McCoy's 754 yards on the ground. A Monday night showdown against the Bears sets the stage for him to go off. Chicago has the potential to be an elite run-stopping team, but their run defense is uncharacteristically ranked outside the Top 10 this season. Given the success McCoy had last week, the Eagles will ensure he gets touches early and often once again.
Michael Turner
The Colts are broken. With no wins, no hope of winning and the draft being the only topic of relevancy in Indy, a state of indifference is becoming rampant. The worst part of their team? Run defense.
That's not good news when Michael Turner and the Atlanta Falcons are coming into town. With Julio Jones out of the lineup, they were able to revert back to their dominant ways of pounding the football and blowing the passing game wide open.
Turner has back-to-back games of over 100 yards. The Colts allow 144 rushing yards per game. The Colts might as well be rolling out the red carpet and escorting Turner to the end zone. They have no shot at even containing him to a dull roar.
