CC Sabathia Re-Signs with Yankees: Why CC Should Not Be Praised by Yankee Fans
At least twice in the next 48 hours, you will be spoon-fed a load of crap.
You will be told how CC Sabathia put the team first by "leaving money on the table."
Give me a break.

Now before you start the whole, "Oh, this is just someone who is jealous of Sabathia making the money that he does" thing, let me set you straight.
I am jealous of Sabathia.
So are you.
Growing up, who didn't want to be a professional athlete making millions of dollars?
If you are reading this, chances are that you did.
Me, I was going to be the next great center for the New York Islanders.
I do not behoove anyone for making as much money as they possibly can. Striking while the "iron is hot" is the intelligent thing to do, especially when you have a smoking gun—an opt-out clause—that you can hold over the team's head.
But let's be clear about this: The opt-out clause was there in case he and/or his family decided that they did not like New York, not so that CC and his agent could pad their bank accounts.
Sabathia, whose inability to control his weight resulted in two months of mediocre pitching, was set to earn another $92 million over the next four years.
That's on top of the nearly $100 million he's already earned over the course of his career.
I am fairly certain that every single one of us could not only live comfortably and make sure that our loved ones were taken care of, but ensure that future generations of our families were taken care of as well on almost $200 million.
For the vast majority of the season, word out of "Camp CC" was how much he and his family loved the Yankees, loved New York and wanted nothing more than to stay here.
Sabathia got exactly what he wanted, but at what cost?
While the Yankees "print money," most of it comes from their devout fan base, one that pays some of the highest ticket prices in the land.
A devout fan base that will undoubtedly pay for this extension as well, though the impact may not be felt for another season or two.
Make no mistake about it—Sabathia is probably worth the money that the Yankees have given him.
Just remember whose pocket the money is actually coming out of.
Yours.
