Week 8 Fantasy Football Rankings: Tony Romo and the Riskiest QBs
Not having confidence in your starting fantasy QB can be a season killer. For starters, not only can it drive you up a wall, but it derails your attention from the other important aspects of having a successful season.
So to help ease your mind and calm the nerves, here are four risky QBs to start in Week 8.
Tony Romo, Dallas (at Philadelphia)

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Starting Romo this week isn't a bad decision by any means, but he's also risky, as Dallas will be more likely to pound the ball against Philly's No. 23-ranked rush defense. It's a big road game that the Cowboys desperately need, and ground and pound is the best recipe on the road.
Also, running the ball more decreases the odds of Romo having another late-game meltdown. Just know that if you start him, his attempts are going to be limited.
Mike Vick, Philadelphia (vs Dallas)
Counter-intuitive to Romo in Dallas is Mike Vick with Philly. The only difference is that Vick will be more prone to turnovers this week as Dallas has a very good pass rush.
In addition, the 'Boys have the No. 1 rush defense and Philly has the No. 1 rush offense. Something has to give, but regardless, expect the Eagles to pound the ball just like Dallas to control the tempo themselves.
Much like Romo, he will be limited, but Dallas has the better defense to force turnovers.
Joe Flacco, Baltimore (vs Arizona)
Plain and simple with the Ravens' offense this week: Utilize RB Ray Rice as much as possible while preventing Joe Flacco from having a catastrophic breakdown.
A loss this week is the last thing Baltimore needs and the best way to help Flacco get his confidence back is to gradually work him back to normal. Ray Rice is their best offensive option, so even if Flacco throws the ball, if it's not a long shot to WR Torrey Smith, it'll be a screen to Rice.
Just anticipate a heavy dose of Rice more than anything, because running the football is what gets an offense back on track.
Tim Tebow, Denver (vs Detroit)
Tebow is a risky start simply because more evidence needs to be had before any conscientious decisions can be made about his consistency. The Miami game was a good start, and the second half of that game could carry over into Week 8 against Detroit.
That being said, don't jump the gun on starting Tim Tebow just because it's Tim Tebow.
Regardless of his opponent, he still needs more time to develop, and the Lions have a solid pass defense. Now include Denver's lack of established targets and more just needs to be seen.
Go with your safer option here, and remember: Just because he can win real football games for Denver doesn't mean he's going to burn the scoreboard in terms of fantasy.
