NFL Week 7 Picks: New York Jets and Home Teams Who Are Guaranteed to Fail
MetLife Stadium is going to be the site of a monumental blowout when the San Diego Chargers come to town to beat up on the New York Jets.
The Jets look nothing like a team that has been to the AFC Championship game the past two seasons, but more like the Brett Favre Jets.
The Jets are just 3-3 and have struggled on both sides of the ball. The defense has picked up 19 sacks through six games, which ranks in the top half of the league, but they have only gotten pressure on the QB 49 times this season. That amount of QB pressure is not going to cut it. To put it in perspective, the Redskins, who have played one less game, have gotten pressure on the QB nine more times this season.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Jets have struggled to stop the run this season, with only four teams in the NFL giving up more yards per game.
To make matters worse, the Jets' offense has been non-existent this year. They are the second worst rushing team in the league and are the 23rd-ranked passing attack.
Things have been much better in San Diego this year as the Chargers have a top 10 passing attack and rushing attack, and they boast the No. 2 pass defense in the NFL. They still need to improve against the run as they are ranked 17th, but considering that the Jets can't run the ball, this will be an easy victory for the Chargers.
The Jets stand no chance to consistently shutdown the Chargers' offense, and their offense is too stagnant to keep up.
It doesn't matter who is quarterbacking the Washington Redskins this week, because Cam Newton is going to be destroyed by the Redskins' defense.
The Redskins boast the ninth-best pass defense in the NFL and the 11th best run defense in the league. As mentioned previously, the Redskins have gotten pressure on the QB on 58 snaps this season through just five games.
Newton is going to have a lot of pressure in his face, and he is bound to make some mistakes throwing the football. To complicate matters, his starting RT, Jeff Otah, has been placed on IR and will miss the remainder of the season. Rookie LB Ryan Kerrigan, who will be rushing right into Newton's face this week, is bound to get a couple big shots in on the former Heisman Trophy winner.
The Panthers also have the second-worst run defense in the NFL, so expect the Redskins to bring a heavy dose of the run game out this weekend. Washington failed to run the ball effectively against the Philadelphia Eagles last week, but they only ran the ball 12 times. Don't expect Mike or Kyle Shanahan to put this game on the arm of John Beck, which will lead to huge yardage on the ground for the 'Skins' running backs.
The Redskins' defense and run game will be too much for Cam Newton and the Panthers to overcome this week, and they will lead to a comfortable victory in Raleigh for the visiting Redskins.
A rookie QB facing off against the defending Super Bowl Champions is a scary thought, but that's exactly what is going down in Minnesota this week.
Christian Ponder is making his first career NFL start this week against the Green Bay Packers, and this is going to end very badly for the former FSU product.
Aaron Rodgers has been lights out this year, and you can expect more of the same this week. Rodgers is averaging over 300 yards passing this year per game, and he'll easily go over that against the Vikings.
Minnesota's pass defense has really struggled this season as they rank 24th overall, which does not bode well at all for a matchup with the Packers. The only shining light for Ponder is that the Packers' pass defense has struggled this year, but with a rookie QB making his debut, it's tough to buy into the fact that he can outscore one of the best QBs in the NFL.
The Packers are going to continue riding their undefeated streak for at least one more week, as they blow out the Vikings in the Metrodome.
