Will Texas Tech Be Eliminated from BCS at Large?
Graham Harrell, Michael Crabtree, and the Texas Tech Red Raiders truly are a team to be reckoned with. However, it just may be the DEA Federal Agents may do the reckoning and will play spoiler for this year’s Red Raiders, and their at large possibility in a BCS Bowl.
According to an article written today by senior writer Ivan Maisel for espn.com, Maisel establishes that Texas Tech defensive back De'Shon Sanders was arrested and charged with “felony possession with intent to distribute in excess of 50 grams of cocaine.”
Junior defensive end Brandon Sesay, and gifted receiver Michael Crabtree are Mr. Sanders roommates. The DEA searched their Lubbock, Texas apartment after his arrest and Crabtree and Sesay were both there. Apparently Crabtree and Sesay are not being considered for charges at this time (?).
Certainly, when one thinks of great collegiate football teams of today, Texas Tech easily comes to the fore and but for one recent loss to the Oklahoma Sooners the Texas Tech Red Raiders were being strongly considered as a potential to win this years national championship game.
Texas Tech’s awesome quarterback, Mr. Graham Harrell, is apparently not connected in this atrocious matter. However, what affects the team as a whole affects each and every one of its members. Harrell is a candidate for many awards this year.
It is sad to think that this criminal action enacted by De'Shon Sanders and which may or may not affect the credibility of his roommates (or others as of yet) notably so Mr. Crabtree, will be enough to end this years hopes for BCS Bowl and the futures of at least one of the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
America is in a severe struggle in its war on drugs. When the war is brought to the battlefield of America’s greatest sport there will be severe penalty for all those who dare be involved. Lets hope the buck stops with Mr. Sanders and there are no bad apples on Mr. Crabtree.
