Steve Smith Fight: Cam Newton Coming to His Aid Shows Leadership for Panthers
After Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith caught a touchdown from Cam Newton, New Orleans Saints' defensive back Roman Harper decided to take a cheap shot at the former Pro Bowl receiver.
As the two were tangling in the back of the end zone, Carolina’s prized No. 1 draft pick Newton rushed over and put his two cents worth into the conversation. He was right in the middle of things.
Who else would do that?

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Few quarterbacks in the NFL would rush to the aid like that, let alone a rookie quarterback.
That just shows that Newton is well beyond his age as a respectable player in the National Football League. If he didn’t have the respect of his teammates before, he has now earned the respect of everybody in the locker room.
Not to mention how he keeps his team in the game. Newton has allowed the Panthers to be competitive against quality NFL teams this season. He has collected 1,386 yards passing and five touchdowns in 2011.
Newton has made the Panthers relevant once again. He has done it all through five games in 2011. He leads one of the most exciting 1-4 teams you will ever see in the NFL.
Coming to the aid of Smith is another example to why Newton is the real deal. His leadership is uncanny, his skills are endless and his passion for winning can’t be argued against.
His teammates appreciate what he did, his coaches appreciate it and the fans love how he jumped right in there for his team.
That’s what a true leader does.
Newton is the definition of a true leader.
