Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Darrius Heyward-Bey and 2 Sleepers To Ignore
Avoiding one-game wonders is almost as important as dodging one-year wonders. Just because a player puts up solid numbers early in the season, that doesn’t mean that those statistics will ever be duplicated. Here are three players to ignore until they become more consistent:
Damian Williams
With Kenny Britt out for the year with a torn ACL, someone had to step up for the Tennessee Titans to make up for the lost production. One of the many receivers that made Titans fans forget about Britt on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns was Damian Williams. The former USC wide out only caught one pass, but it was for a touchdown.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Sure, Williams did start the game for Tennessee and caught a touchdown pass, but Matt Hasselbeck spreads the ball around too much to pick up the second-year receiver just yet. Williams will be forced to share the football with Nate Washington, Jared Cook and Craig Stevens. Wait another week or two before even thinking about adding Williams.
Laurent Robinson
Laurent Robinson filled Miles Austin’s shoes nicely on Sunday, catching seven passes for 116 yards. Keep your finger off that trigger, though. Robinson isn’t worth adding on your fantasy football team. He won’t put up those types of numbers consistently.
Yeah, he plays in a high-powered Dallas Cowboys offense, but his opportunities in the passing will disappear as soon as Austin returns to the starting lineup. Suddenly, Robinson will join Jesse Holley and Kevin Ogletree as backup wideouts that will breakout for solid games once every three or four games or so.
Darrius Heyward-Bey
Darrius Heyward-Bey is the definition of inconsistent. He recorded a four-catch, 115-yard game against the New England Patriots on Sunday, but you’d have to be nuts to expect that level of production on a week-to-week basis.
First off, the Patriots have the worst pass defense in the entire league. If he was ever going to have a good game, it would be against New England. Heyward-Bey still hasn’t caught a touchdown all year and with Denarius Moore emerging as the Oakland Raiders’ No. 1 wideout, that means less targets for the Maryland product.
