Frank Gore Injury: Why Fantasy Owners Would Be Wise To Trade 49ers RB Now
There’s no time like the present to make the right roster move, and the right move right now for fantasy owners of San Francisco’s Frank Gore is to get him out of the lineup.
Trading him would be even better, if you can find someone interested in picking up an often-injured running back for whom the future consists of coming off the San Francisco bench.
The 49ers plan to start rookie Kendall Hunter on the road today in Philadelphia, so he should get upwards of 20 touches between carrying the ball and catching it. Every touch he gets is one that Gore, who is active and is scheduled to see some time, won’t get.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
First-year 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh told Gore he wouldn’t be starting after watching the veteran go through workouts an hour or two before the kickoff against the Eagles.
Gore, who was hobbled by a sprained right ankle picked up in San Francisco’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, was limited in workouts this week. And as recently as Friday he wasn’t sure about how much time he’d be able to see.
Meanwhile, Hunter’s playing time has gone up steadily, getting six touches in Week 1 before getting 21 against the Bengals last week after Gore’s ankle gave out. Against the Eagles, who have had trouble stopping the run, Hunter could be ready for a breakout game.
And another 49er backup to Gore, Anthony Dixon, is expected to get some playing time this week.
Hunter and Dixon have not appeared in the same game for the 49ers just yet, but expect that streak to end today in Philadelphia.
