Redskins vs. Cowboys: Tony Romo Right to Be Upset After Heroic Effort in MNF Win
I'm sure the Cowboys are happy to have escaped their Monday night game against the Redskins with a win, but no one will get overly excited about the way they played.
They just barely squeaked by the Redskins by the score of 18-16 and they failed to put the ball into the end zone. Those 18 points came on six field goals.
Tony Romo, rib injury and all, completed a high percentage of his passes and threw for 255 yards, but he also had an interception.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Romo himself was the biggest critic of the Cowboys after the game.
In an AP story on ESPN.com, Romo had the following to say about the team's play: "We had a million mistakes tonight. We have a lot of young guys, but they were out there for a reason. We'll get it right."
Reading between the lines, Romo is referring in particular to Phil Costa, the Cowboys center. He botched several snaps and Romo's frustration with him showed.
Romo had better hope the entire team gets it right soon because as it is right now, the Cowboys have more questions than answers.
They all made it through fine tonight, but you have to wonder if Romo, Felix Jones and Dez Bryant will hold up all season. Each already have injury concerns. That's to say nothing of Miles Austin, who will likely be out until after the Cowboys' bye week.
The defense is also suspect. Even though they held Washington to 16 points, they let Rex Grossman throw for 250 yards. This was actually one of their better efforts.
Against any number of more explosive offenses, this would have been a loss for Dallas.
We'll know for sure if this Cowboys team is for real rather quickly. They take on the surprising Detroit Lions this coming week. After their bye in Week 5, they come back and have a game against New England. If they are still struggling, it will show in those games.
Given all the injuries they have dealt with, the Cowboys should be more than happy with a win. It just may not necessarily mean that they are ready to be a contender in the NFC.
