NFL Predictions Week 2: 5 Bold Predictions for Week 2 of the NFL Season
First and foremost, Cam Newton will throw for under 200 yards
The Packers gave up nearly 400 yards in Week 1. That was to Drew Brees, a Super Bowl-winning quarterback who is considered one of the five best in the NFL.
Cam Newton threw for over 400 yards in Week 1. That was against the Arizona Cardinals, a team with the worst total defense in 2010.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Last season, the Cardinals gave up the 10th-most passing yards in the NFL. Last week, they started two cornerbacks with a combined two games of NFL experience.
Last season, Green Bay was the fifth-best pass defense in regards to yards given up, and held opponents to the fourth-lowest completion percentage.
Second of all, Atlanta will beat Philadelphia.
The Falcons looked completely overmatched against the Chicago Bears defense in Week 1. Atlanta were supposed to have one of the best offenses in the game, but were held to zero offensive touchdowns.
On the other hand, the Eagles looked like the dream team that everyone thought they would be after their barrage of free agent signings and trades that ensued in the weeks following the end of the lockout.
The Philadelphia defense held the Rams to only one touchdown off a break away Steven Jackson run. Meanwhile, Michael Vick threw for two touchdowns and rushed for nearly 100 yards.
However, at home, Matt Ryan and the Falcons will bounce back against the Eagles.
Thirdly, Chris Johnson will run for under 60 yards.
Despite being one of the only players in NFL history to rush for over 2000 yards in a single season, Chris Johnson was held to 24 yards in Week 1 against a less-than-impressive Jacksonville defense.
It appears that the combination of the lockout and his several-week long holdout throughout training camp may be taking a toll.
In Week 2, Johnson will be up against a stouter Ravens defense. While he will probably best 24 yards, he’s still destined for another disappointing week.
Fourthly, Buffalo will be 2-0.
The perennial basement dwellers have a great opportunity to start the season 2-0, as the Oakland Raiders travel to upstate New York in Week 2.
The Raiders played a sloppy game against Denver on Monday night and were lucky to come away with a win.
The Bills are coming off a dominant win, having throttled the Chiefs on the road in Week 1. Ryan Fitzpatrick looks like the most legitimate quarterback that the team has had in quite some time and the defense was impressive as well.
Fifthly, New Orleans will be 0-2.
The Bears are entering Week 2 as a seven-point underdog to the New Orleans Saints.
The Saints will be looking to rebound from an opening-night loss to the Green Bay Packers, but they will have to wait another week before securing their first victory.
The Saints are without No. 1 receiver Marques Colston and have lost three games in a row, going back to last season. On paper, there is no reason to pick the Bears over the Saints, but a Bears defense that shut down the Falcons will step up again against Brees and the Saints.
