UFC 132 Results: Melvin Guillard Considers Himself the Best Fighter at 155 Lbs
You don't need to ask UFC lightweight Melvin Guillard who he thinks is the top fighter in the UFC lightweight division.
Currently on a five-fight win streak, Guillard picked a win over Shane Roller this past weekend at UFC 132. Now, it has become clear that after his recent string of impressive performances, Guillard wants a shot at the lightweight title, and whether he gets his wish or not, he already considers himself the best fighter.
"I am the best 155-pounder," Guillard told MMAJunkie.com. "No disrespect to Frankie Edgar or Gray Maynard, but they proved it in the last fight when they fought each other. Gray had him on his heels and didn't finish. I'm a finisher."

Since going 3-3 inside the octagon two years ago, Guillard became rededicated and refocused on his career. He trained under the tutelage of Greg Jackson, already adding to a talented camp which includes the likes of Georges St-Pierre, Jon Jones and Clay Guida.
His next matchup is uncertain, but some critics have wanted to see Guillard and fellow teammate Guida square off in the near future.
Guillard said he would accept a fight with Guida as long there are title implications at stake. It is a debatable topic among camps regarding two fighters who compete in the same division, and for some fighters, it complicates matters between them.
However, for Guillard, his only intention is to receive a title shot and he doesn't care who he has to beat in order to reach his goal.
"This is business. I'll fight my brother for that UFC title. I'll fight my mother for that UFC title. I mean that, and that's from the heart," he said. "When that time comes and I have to fight a teammate, we have to sort out how we're going to do the training camps, but may the best man win."
