WWE: Skip Sheffield to Return 'Very Soon', According to His Twitter
According to his official Twitter account, @Skip_Sheffield, the Cornfed Meathead and NXT Season 1 contestant will be returning to the ring soon. Sheffield took five tweets to express his thoughts to his over 27,000 fans early Friday morning.
Sheffield tweeted the following message broken into five separate tweets:
"Better to hear it from me than somewhere else and get the truth. Will be having a third surgery this Tuesday and it will be the last. There are a lot of people who are far worse off and this is all happening for a good reason.

"I wish I was back right now and doing what I love, but things are not right and they have to be fixed. I will be 100% very soon and back on WWE TV and I thank all of you for your support. I have kept my head held high and I cannot thank WWE enough for their support in this time.
"I have worked too hard too long to just give up and while it has been difficult it has only made me a stronger better person so please be patient and I will be back I promise."
Sheffield was injured all the way back on Aug. 18 at a house show in Honolulu, Hawaii. Sheffield broke his ankle while teaming with fellow Nexus member David Otunga against The Hart Dynasty. 296 days have passed since Sheffield's injury and two surgeries on the ankle have already occurred.
Sheffield was rumored to be thought of highly by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, which may have been one of the reasons that such patience has been taken with Sheffield's injury.
Sheffield has remained on the RAW superstars page on WWE.com throughout and, while not being formally removed from Nexus, WWE has released articles that have shown Sheffield as a former member of the group.
Whether he rejoins the group, which is now headed by CM Punk, remains to be seen. For now, the timetable on Sheffield seems to have shrunk and there seems to be a more definite answer for the long-awaited return of Skip Sheffield.
Sheffield, ironically, was also a member of the $1,000,000 Tough Enough season in 2004. The season was won by Daniel Puder, with The Miz as the runner-up.
It was the final season of the show until this past season's revival of the series. Sheffield is the only man to have been a contestant on both Tough Enough and NXT.
