WWE: The Rock and 24 Other WWE Superstars Who Could Play in the NFL
This is pure fantasy.
Using my imagination, I've compiled a football team composed by current WWE wrestlers.
There's an offense, a defense, two specialists and a coach.
Most of these guys would never play in the NFL and while some could, I doubt any would make a team, but it's a fun thing to speculate about.
QB: The Undertaker
1 of 15
Big, strong, fast and agile.
The total package.
He also has a lot of experience and is a respected veteran, so he gets to be the leader of the team, at least on the field.
FB: Michael Tarver
2 of 15
Not that big of a guy, relatively speaking, but still a relentless attacker.
Fullbacks aren't anything pretty or glamorous; they are nasty blockers and Tarver would be the best man available for the job.
RB: Sin Cara
3 of 15
He may be small, but in this position being fast and agile are way more important and Sin Cara is both fast and agile as well as tough.
WR: The Miz
4 of 15
Chad Ochocinco, Terrell Owens and now The Miz.
Cocky, self-centered and controversial, Miz may be the worst of the three as a receiver, but he may be the best in the other aspects.
WR: John Morrison
5 of 15
Parkour's base is to go from point A to point B avoiding all obstacles, so running a route avoiding defenders wouldn't be a big change for Morrison.
TE: CM Punk
6 of 15
Probably the most versatile wrestler in the WWE right now.
Tight ends need to be able to do a plethora of different things so a versatile athlete would be the best selection for this position.
OL: The Great Khali, Brodus Clay, Big Show, Mark Henry and Chris Masters
7 of 15
All of them are big, heavy guys who would be hard for any defender to get by.
Most of them are also pretty athletic, which only adds to their ability to play in these positions.
DE: Skip Sheffield and Ezekiel Jackson
8 of 15
Sheffield's got the power and the speed, but what sets him apart is his ability to talk, so he would be the one mocking the opposing QB and O-line.
On the other hand, Jackson's a big powerful guy who's also fast for his size, which would make him a decent defensive end.
DT: Husky Harris and Kane
9 of 15
Husky Harris is 300-plus pounds and yet his finisher is a high-flying move. He's very agile for his size and also has decent speed for a defensive tackle.
Kane is another big yet agile guy, maybe not as fast and agile as Harris, but more powerful and therefore a great complement.
OLB: Sheamus and Mason Ryan
10 of 15
Both are big, but not huge.
Neither will be remembered as the fastest ever, but both are fast enough.
Above all, both are very vicious, which would make them great tacklers.
MLB: Tyler Reks
11 of 15
Obscure and intimidating, opposing RBs would need to be aware of where this guy is if they don't want to be hurt.
Strong, fast and agile. While he may not excel at any of those things, he's got a combination of them that makes him a dangerous opponent.
Secondary: Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth and Alberto Del Rio
12 of 15
All of them are agile and relentless, which would give the opposing receivers little chance.
McIntyre and Ziggler would be the cornerbacks and ADR and Truth the safeties.
K: Wade Barrett
13 of 15
Soccer is the most popular game in England (and most of Europe).
Wade Barrett is from England.
The basis of soccer is to kick a ball.
The kicker's job is exactly the same.
Therefore, he gets to be the kicker.
P: Randy Orton
14 of 15
One of his signature moves is a punt to the head.
He needs to be faster when deciding if he punts or not and the shape of what he punts would change, but all in all, he's the best option.
Coach: The Rock
15 of 15
He was a defensive tackle in college, and a pretty good one at that.
Because of that, he has the experience to teach the others and with his ability to talk he would be a great motivator for the team.
