With this type of dominant victory, King Kong Bundy was launched into super-stardom.
Next was Ricky "The Dragon Steamboat" taking on Matt Borne. Steamboat came out swinging, demonstrating his power. Borne then burst out of Ricky's control, flipping him over by using a belly-to-belly suplex. Steamboat soon regained the upper hand and blasted Borne with a flying cross-body for the win.
The first championship defense of WrestleMania was for the Intercontinental Championship. WWE Intercontinental Champion Greg Valentine was to defend his belt against The Junk Yard Dog. Junkyard Dog came with barrage of vicious headbutts, leaving Valentine in a daze. Valentine fought back with his signature elbows, leading to a pin of Junkyard Dog. But since his legs were on the rope, the matched was restarted. After a long struggle, Junkyard Dog won the match by count-out.
An epic battle was to be decided by a $15,000 Body Slam Challenge match between Andre the Giant and Big John Studd. The rules of this particular match were that Andre the Giant had to body slam Studd, where he would either win $15,000 or, if he was unsuccessful, be forced to retire. Andre was able to slam the 6' 7'', 320-pound stud down to the mat and the $15,000 was his. In celebration on his victory, he began to throw money into the New York cowd. Heenan, however, grabbed the bag, holding the remainder of the winnings and ran from ringside. As a result of the match, Andre was able to continue his undefeated streak unscathed.
The much anticipated and main event of the night was where Mr. T and current WWE Champion Hulk Hogan teamed up to battle "The Hot Rod" Rowdy Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff. Boxing legend and American icon Muhammad Ali took part in the action as the special guest referee. Piper and Orndorff were as hated a team in the history of the sport. Hulk Hogan was at the beginning of the greatest career in the history of the sport. Watching these man trade fist after fist was remarkable to watch. Fans cheered for Hogan louder than they had all night. They went even crazier after Muhammad Ali laid out Roddy Piper in an attempt to restore the pandemonium inside the ring.
