Auburn Football 2011: New Faces Arrive on the Plains
Auburn has more new faces to join the team.
Kiehl Frazier arrived on campus with Kris Frost to start summer session. In fact several freshmen that are expected to play an important role this season have arrived.
Kiehl Frazier, quarterback, is likely one of the most anticipated arrivals at Auburn in quite some time.
Kris Frost, linebacker/receiver, is a talented athlete expected to at least help shore up special teams this season.
Quan Bray, running back/receiver, is expected to step in and play on special teams and possibly get some touches on offense.
Sammie Coats, receiver, is one of the fastest recruits at that position in quite some time. He should be able to start learning his blocking duties during individual effort drills this summer.
Erique Florence, safety, will at least be a factor on special teams and he has the talent to gain playing time if he picks up the defense quickly.
Chris Landrum, receiver, will begin to learn his duties as an inside linebacker and should help shore up special teams.
Jabrian Niles, defensive lineman, will be a beast on special teams and has the ability and size to play inside or outside on the defensive line.
Gregory Robinson, offensive lineman, is likely in for a red shirt year unless he can work hard and develop quickly.
Devaunte Sigler, defensive lineman, will likely have more of an impact on special teams this season.
Jermaine Whitehead, cornerback/athlete, could see playing time in the cornerback rotation if he develops quickly and will certainly provide some speed on special teams.
Gabe Wright, defensive tackle, will be expected to step up and contribute quickly. He will have to learn to stuff the middle quickly.
January Arrivals
Jonathan Rose, cornerback, seems to have cut out a slot in the cornerback rotation.
Reese Dismukes, center is in a very hotly contested competition for the starting spot on the offensive line.
Thomas O’Reilly, offensive guard, was hampered by injury and rehabilitation from participating in the spring, but is an aggressive prospect that plays with a mean streak. His extra time watching film and learning his position might just let him avoid a red shirt season.
There are 10 more recruits expected to join the most talented Auburn team in recent memory come June.
The willingness of these young players to come in and work hard could determine if Auburn is simply a good team or if they have what it takes to be great in 2011.
