WWE SmackDown: Analyzing Christian's WWE World Title Match Result
Tuesday on SmackDown, Christian lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Randy Orton. Just two days after winning it, he has lost what he worked so hard to gain.
Why would WWE make this move? Why did Christian have to drop the title so soon? What is the reason for this? In this article, we will take a look at all possible reasons and outcomes for this.
The first thing that comes to mind is a heel turn, for either Randy Orton or Christian. Randy Orton turning heel might be the best decision to make. After beating Christian so soon, you can expect a lot of fan heat on him, as he is nowhere in need of the world title at the moment.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
After winning the title, Orton reminds everyone watching that he is "the new World Heavyweight Champion" to rub it in everyone's face.
It would be interesting for Orton to become the top heel on SmackDown and use Christian as the top face. This could end up being a good outcome if WWE has Christian cleanly beat Orton and regain the world title, giving him even more credibility.
What if Christian were to turn heel? This is probably even more interesting. Christian could turn heel and become SmackDown's new top heel, and Randy Orton could become the top face. Christian could challenge Randy Orton to a rematch at Over The Limit and cheat to win, becoming a heel in the process and winning back the world title that he deserves.
This would still give Christian more credibility, as he would win the title again and have a victory over Randy Orton.
Then there is one last possibility. This is what most fans would hate to see. What if Christian challenges Randy Orton to a rematch, loses and never wins it back, going down the ladder and losing what he and WWE have been building up on for the past number of weeks now?
This would be a horrible mistake by WWE.
Randy Orton keeping the title and not using Christian the right way is just the kind of thing us fans are complaining about. Right now, Christian losing the title this way is a slap in the face to Christian, his fans and the Extreme Rules PPV, which was practically made to give Christian the push he has deserved for a long time now.
Think of how Christian has been built up as of late; why on Earth would you just all of a sudden drop it all and give the title to someone who in no way needs it right now?
Let's take a look at Christian's journey to the world title from the beginning.
Christian made his WWE debut on September 27, 1998 at the Breakdown: In Your House PPV. Christian immediately joined a stable known as "The Brood." Edge eventually joined as well, and one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history was born.
Edge and Christian won the tag-team title seven times together and were Tag Team of the Year in 2000. They would later break up as a team in 2001, and Christian's singles career would begin. He won the intercontinental title three times, the European title once, the Hardcore title once and the light heavyweight title once as well.
He had many great matches and feuds at this time with the likes of Edge, Booker T, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, John Cena, The Rock, Rob Van Dam, The Hardys and many others. He left the WWE for a few years after being drafted to SmackDown in 2005.
During his time in TNA, he was given a chance as a main-eventer and proved to many that he deserved to be a world champion. He won the NWA world championship two times there. He would later return to WWE in 2009.
On February 10, 2009, Christian officially returned to WWE on its ECW brand to challenge Jack Swagger for the ECW championship, which he would later win at Backlash. Christian then lost the title to Tommy Dreamer, but regained it at The Bash.
He would become the longest-reigning WWE-era ECW champion. He had many great matches in ECW with the likes of Jack Swagger, William Regal, Shelton Benjamin, Vladamir Kozlov, Zach Ryder, Tommy Dreamer, Mark Henry and Ezekiel Jackson, who he would lose the title to.
Christian was then moved to Raw. He had good matches with the likes of Ted Dibiase, Carlito and Chris Jericho, but didn't do much with the brand and was soon moved to SmackDown.
With SmackDown, he would begin to move farther up as a superstar and had great matches with names such as Drew McIntyre, CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes, Edge, Kofi Kingston and more. Eventually, he would start a feud with the rising new star Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio would injure Christian, taking him out for six months until he returned at the Elimination Chamber PPV.
Christian would go on to have multiple victories over Del Rio in both singles and tag-team matches, including one in a Steel Cage match. Del Rio would continue feuding with Christian after WrestleMania, where it was announced that Edge had to retire, leaving Christian to fill Edge's spot as the top face on SmackDown.
Christian would win a battle royal for the right to face Del Rio in a world title match at Extreme Rules. After a hard-fought ladder match, Christian would raise the world title above his head on the ladder as the new World Heavyweight Champion.
After a long and very interesting career, he had finally accomplished his dream. But for some reason, that dream has been cut way too short.
Hopefully, no matter what the outcome is, it will all work out in the end and make Christian look even better because dropping the ball on yet another great superstar to make Randy Orton look even better would be ridiculous.
