John Morrison: A Story of Imperfection and Dirtsheet Rumors Admired by the IWC
Before I start, I would like to note that this article was written before the news of this past week and was slightly altered because of it.
As I sat watching Vickie Guerrero taunting the entrance and mannerisms of John Morrison, I noticed the snickers and laughter of my friends. Since the Elimination Chamber PPV, I’ve missed every single RAW, and when I witnessed Vickie pin Morrison, I was in awe. The same man who’s been on a hot streak as of late and was moments from winning the WWE Championship was now laying down for an overrated manager.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
One friend turned to me and asked “Why do you admire John Morrison so much?”
As I searched for the words, I found myself unable to give him a decent answer. The obvious answer would be his style of wrestling, rock star gimmick, or the insane spots at the recent pay-per-views. While all of those reasons are substantial and can bring about a compelling argument, none play a major factor in my markism for Morrison.
As a Morrison mark since his debut on ECW in 2006, I’ve always admired Morrison for one thing.
His imperfections
Every person on the face of this Earth has or will hear the phrase “nobody’s perfect." While he shines like no other inside the square circle, when it comes to holding the microphone, Morrison isn’t as overwhelming. For example, "You’re a bully Sheamus," and pre-match promo discussing his match with Jeff Hardy exposed the horrible truth all us fans must face.
Morrison needs to improve.
Witnessing the endless criticism of Morrison in the past, it seems as if the detractors use Morrison's lack of charisma as the first excuse for him not to be World Champion. This is met with a number of Morrison fans who usually argue that the World Title reign of the Great Khali writes the charisma factor off.
While I believe Khali won the title on circumstance, the numbers of Morrison fans that take offense to the comments surprise me. Is it true that fans admire an imperfect Superstar? Admiring a guy who goes out each week and puts on a wrestling clinic, instead of talking for the better part of the show?
Do John Morrison’s imperfections give the extra shove us fans need to hold him as high above others as we do?
This past week, news leaked that John Morrison gave WWE Legend, Trish Stratus, the cold shoulder.
Multiple websites stated that John Morrison’s girlfriend, Melina, was upset that Trish Stratus took her spot in the mixed tag team match at Mania. The story also states that Morrison rejected a number of Trish’s ideas and refused to make contact with her inside the ring.
When watching the replay, I noticed the trend and found it strange that Morrison avoided Trish, but I brushed it off as any other fan. Along with these stories, it has been said that Morrison allowed Melina to pursue physical relationship with other wrestlers.
It’s a well-known fact that Melina dated Batista, and former WWE Wrestler Brian Kendrick also claims that he had a physical relationship with Melina.
While this has obviously effected his personal life, it seems as if it has affected his career. Word is, Morrison is a nice guy but lost a ton of respect for allowing the relationship between Batista to continue.
Why is Melina’s dating past a part of this story?
Now that Trish Stratus has come forward and acknowledged the fact that Morrison did ignore her, most expect Morrison to be buried in the coming weeks. Not just Morrison critics, but a number of hardcore Morrison fans have turned their backs on their favorite Superstar.
I was wondering what most of them thought when the news of Alberto Del Rio complaining about Sin Cara or the derailed push of Kofi Kingston because of Randy Orton. Both stories were reported by the wrestling dirt sheets. Most of these same fans rejoiced at the news of John Cena’s injury months ago.
WRONG
When John Morrison was allowing Melina to have a physical relationship with Batista, it was public knowledge that the two had already split. It also makes no sense for Morrison to be angered by Trish being included in the match. Melina has been heel since slapping Natalya on RAW a few months ago, and to change someone who virtually has no air time is insane.
This may just be the general opinion, but wouldn’t it be more rational for Morrison to be angry at the WWE for forcing him to participate in a match with a reality star? There’s no denying the fact that Morrison and Trish’s body language has been unusual as of late, and their tag match on RAW is a testimony to that.
But the other rumors of Morrison accompanying Melina on dates with other guys are just that.
Rumors!
Another example of the falsifying antics of the numerous dirt sheets would be the story of Scott Hall being hospitalized for a drug overdose.
With all of that being said, the lesson is to ignore some traits of dirtsheet stories. There have been a number of instances that can support my claim that the majority of the backstage news coming out of these sites is falsified.
We shouldn’t praise them for spoiling or falsifying the stories of the WWE. We should stray away from those sites and enjoy the small amount of wrestling we have today. My motto would be to take the words of John Cena as a standard for those sites.
“That’s called a first round knockout now you know that I’m not playing, run your stories all you want dude, it doesn’t matter what you’re saying.”
I’ll leave you all with this, it seems as if these Morrison cold shoulder stories are true, but just remember, nobody’s perfect. Everything has to Kliq.
