Wrestlemania 27: Breakdown, Prediction and the BOOM of Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan
It's the former WWE champion versus the original bad boy of Nexus. The King of the Ring versus the Necktie Strangler. The Jar of Mayo vs. the guy who doesn't own a TV. Lets breakdown, predict and look at the BOOM factor of Daniel Bryan versus Sheamus for the United States Championship.
BREAK IT DOWN
In this corner standing at 6'6" and weighing in at just over 270 pounds, from Dublin Ireland, Sheamus; probably the fastest man ever to become the WWE champion. Watch this path and see how excellence is born, Sheamus had a feud with Goldust in July of 2009 on ECW which he essentially won. In October of 2009 he debuted on Raw and beat Jamie Noble, in December of 2009, less than two months later Sheamus was the WWE champion.

Did you follow that? he went from beating Goldust, a quick feud with Shelton Benjamin that barely lasted, debuted to fight Noble and then beat Cena. Impressed? It gets better in 2010 Sheamus went on to beat HHH at Extreme Rules, he beat Orton, Cena and Edge at the Fatal 4 Way ppv, Cean in a steel cage at Money in the Bank and Orton at Summer Slam.
That is virtually every major WWE star. It took a six pack challenge at Night of Champions to take out the Irish Warrior. He then went on to win the King of the Ring competition to then find himself losing, week after week until March 7th when he won the US Championship from Daniel Bryan.
Daniel Bryan, aka Bryan Danielson, aka The American Dragon, aka IWC wonder boy has been in the WWE one year and in that time he was part of the biggest night of Monday Night Raw in years, fired, rehired and crowned US Champion.
His actions in the Nexus attack on Raw cemented the destructive power of that team, but spitting on Cena and choking the ring announcer with his tie did not sit well with the sponsors, thus Daniel found himself out of the WWE but not out of the spotlight for a couple of months.
Internet rumors, tweets, cryptic interviews kept his name alive and connected to the WWE and in August there he was, back but with a different name and in the main event at the Summer Slam ppv. One month later he was the United States champion, capturing it from the now WWE champion, and his NXT Pro, The Miz.
How will two of the fastest rising stars fare at WrestleMania against one another, and who will be walking out with US Gold?
PREDICTION:
This will be a highlight of the night, maybe not THE show stealer, but it certainly is going to leave its mark. Bryan's technical skills versus Sheamus's brute force will be a great match up and the clash of personalities will play out well on the screen. My call is that Sheamus retains the title ends the match with his hand held high from an incredibly hard fought match.
This will lead to Sheamus and the US Title being a more sought after title on Raw, bringing both a bit more clout and some decent stories along with it. Feuds with Morrison, Ziggler, and even another longer go around with Bryan.
HERE COMES THE BOOM
The BOOM factor of this match is that Sheamus knows how to dish out some serious punishment and Daniel Bryan can take it. This is going to be a dance of submission attempts combined with shouts of "Oh My God!" ala Joey Styles.
I do have to say I hope this doesn't come to a a constant attempt of getting Sheamus in the Label Lock. The only problem with being the guy who's the submission master is that the entire match is set up around trying to get on one move. Sheamus has several finishers in his arsenal (say that word with an Irish accent, its fun...ArsEnal) that can take out Bryan but if this just turns into a game of grab your arm.
While I'm not a huge fan of either of these men, mainly because of the speed and the path they took to get to where they are, I can say I'm looking forward to the match. I however am not looking forward to the follow up articles on this site about the match, and having all the IWC screaming and crying about bad story writing or whatever that makes Bryan look bad.
The man has no personality, he can do all the flips and locks he wants, but until he can relate to the public, have a decent entrance song, and get popular enough to sell a t-shirt he has no business wearing big gold in the WWE.
He wants to be champion of bingo halls and ball parks, perfectly understood, but to walk on the same ground as great mid card champs like Savage, Honky Tonk Man, Mr. Perfect, Jericho, and others he has a long way to go to earn some respect in my book. Boom.
