Aaron Donald Reportedly Exploring Media Future, Making Docuseries Amid Rams, NFL Comeback Rumors
All eyes are on Aaron Donald as he weighs whether to make an NFL comeback with the Los Angeles Rams.
But the NFL icon is also thinking about his future plans outside of playing football.
According to Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports, Donald signed with Jon Rosen's management team at Envisionary as he looks to grow his business and brand partnerships as well as his profile in the media and entertainment industries.
Glasspiegel also noted that Donald is working on developing a docuseries.
The report comes amid rumors of Donald returning to the NFL three years after his initial retirement. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport noted in July that Donald "does not really know himself whether this is going to happen," but "does seem to be exploring this possibility."
If Donald does return, Rapoport added that he likely wouldn't join the team until later in training camp or even during the regular season, and he'd play as "more of a spot guy" rather than a starter.
Rams head coach Sean McVay has been a bit coy about Donald's return, but said that he's been in contact with him.
"I have had conversations with him," McVay told reporters in July. "We've kept in contact. He's feeling good. His training is going really well. But no new news on the front of like, any imminent decision on whether he's going to play."
McVay didn't have an update on Donald last week, but he said if there is an arrow, "it's trending upward."
It's hard to predict exactly how good Donald would be if he were to return, but he was impactful in his last NFL season when he logged 53 tackles and eight sacks. He could surely still make an impact in a spot role.
The Rams defense got a huge upgrade this offseason when they traded for Myles Garrett, the best pass rusher in the NFL. Adding Donald would only be another upgrade as Los Angeles chases another Super Bowl.
If Donald does return, it seems it could only be for a year or so, as he clearly has his business and media endeavours on his mind.
