Brock Lesnar Confirms WWE Retirement in Trending Video After SummerSlam Loss to Oba Femi

Brock Lesnar has officially announced his retirement from professional wrestling, per remarks made on the Pat McAfee Show.

Lesnar lost to Oba Femi in a Hell in a Cell match last Saturday evening to close Night 1 of SummerSlam in his home state of Minnesota.

Afterward, Lesnar grabbed the mic and declared himself the "past" and Femi the "future" and raised his opponent's hand.

esnar seemed to retire at WrestleMania 42 in April after losing to Oba Femi. He left his boots and gloves in the ring before tearfully walking away.

However, Lesnar soon wrestled again at Clash in Italy, defeating Femi on May 31.

Femi then won King of the Ring in June, giving himself a chance at a world title. However, he relinquished that chance and decided to challenge Lesnar once more at SummerSlam.

Femi won that battle after pinning Lesnar following a Fall from Grace. That led to Lesnar's brief post-match speech, which seemed to indicate the Beast Incarnate could be done for good.

That is in fact the case, ending a great WWE career which featured Lesnar winning the WWE Championship seven times and the Universal title on three different occasions. He also won Royal Rumble twice and infamously ended The Undertaker's streak at WrestleMania XXX in 2014.

Lesnar once starred as a University of Minnesota wrestler and won the 2000 NCAA Division I championships in the 285-pound weight class. He moved onto WWE and trained at Ohio Valley Wrestling for two years before heading to the main roster. Lesnar was a monster for a couple years before trying his hand at professional football, playing in the preseason for the 2004 Minnesota Vikings as a defensive lineman.

Lesnar didn't make the team but soon found a new home with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, winning the heavyweight championship in his first match. He held the belt for 280 days and had three successful title belt before relinquishing the title.

An MMA career soon followed, and Lesnar fought in the UFC in the late 2000s and early 2010s. He won the UFC heavyweight championship and defended that belt twice.

Lesnar returned to WWE in 2012 and became a part-time wrestler. He took part in 85 matches and faced the biggest names WWE had to offer, including John Cena, Roman Reigns, 'Taker, Seth Rollins and more. Femi, of course, is a superstar in the making as well.

Now Lesnar moves on. The WWE Hall of Fame will be calling his name shortly, but he's had a sensational run for over a quarter-century.
