Isaac Romo Assists Cruz Azul in Defeating FC Atlas

The venerable Cruz Azul was able to surprise FC Atlas with a victory in the Estadio Azul in Mexico.

The referee for the match was Miguel Angel Flores Rodriguez.

Emanuel Vila started the game for Cruz Azul by using his head to score the first goal within the first few minutes. He was assisted by Christian Gimenez in his effort.

Flavio Santos used his head to score the equalizer for Atlas in the second half within 73 minutes. He was assisted by Hugo Rodriguez.

Gimenez assisted Isaac Romo in the goal that defeated Atlas within the end of the match at 90 minutes.

Daniel Arreola Arguello received a red card for his aggressive behavior against Javier Aquino Carmona within 90 minutes. The punishment favored Cruz Azul with a free kick.

Rodriguez was an uneventful referee awarding yellow cards to both sides such as Horacio Cervantes, Gerardo Torrado, Miguel Pinto, Wilman Conde and Daniel Arreola Arguello.

Rodriguez also invalidated a goal that was scored by Atlas which was a goal.

Cruz Azul is currently in second place in Group 3 of the Mexican League with 13 points behind Pumas (UNAM).

Atlas is in fourth place in Group 2 of the Mexican League with 10 points behind Toluca, San Luis and Club America.

Gimenez was the most valued player of the match for his efforts in assisting Vila and Romo with their goals.
