Can't Swat the Nats!
It's become a horror story. The Ghost of Seasons past, has comeback. I hate that word, "collapse", because this team has had to overcome more adversity then any other team in the league, and to be on the doorstep of the playoffs, is a testament of the character on this team. Last night's game, will either be the beginning of the end, or will be the jump start of an amazing run. To figure out which one of these end results will be the Met's fate, you have to look at the negatives and positives of last night's game.
The Negatives:

10 Scorching MLB Takes 🌶️

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
1. The Mets lineup made Odalis Perez, look like Bob Gibson. You can't allow a guy who, in the beginning of the year, was on the scrap heap, just mow down the players, up and down the lineup.
2. The Tatis injury, is a major blow! Tatis acted as a protector to Delgado, and in my estimation, helped in the resurgence of Delgado, as a major force in the Major Leagues.
3. You can not keep wasting "amazing" starts. Pelfrey, who looked labored around the 5th and 6th innings, hung in there and gave you more then a quality start. With, this offense, there should never ever be a 1-0 lose.
The Positives:
1. Playing from behind, takes off pressure. Hear me out, I don't think being in second place is where any team wants to be. But lets face it, we are a fan base that expects bad things to happen (see 2007 season). A sense of urgency is what this team needs, because it is something it didn't have last year, but it is something it responded to well earlier this season.
2. Pelfrey and Santana, have become an amazing one, two punch, so the future looks bright from a starting pitching perspective. As for the bullpen, I expect "Major" attention to be paid towards that in the off-season.
3. There is no reason to think, that the Mets can't go to the World Series. Baseball is a funny sport, and one moment can change a whole season (see 2007 Rockies).
Quick Note: I moved to Philadelphia in May, and I listen to a lot of Philly Sports Talk Radio. They have been saying, the Mets have been dead since well before the Willie firing. It's time to prove them wrong!
