For those who do not know what transpired, here is the soap opera drama in a nutshell.
Salvador Cabanas was shot in the head almost a year ago following a dispute in a Mexican Bar. He was not expected to recover since the bullet lodged in the occipital lobe (back side of the skull).
During the time that he underwent treatment, Club America paid for his treatment and supported him. The club even dedicated a game to him.
Cabanas eventually went to Paraguay to continue his treatment. According to his lawyers, the payments from Club America stopped as the publicity for the story died down.
The lawyers for Cabanas sued Club America and talked about bringing the club before the FMF (Mexican Football Federation) and FIFA.
The club threatened to counterattack and the lawyers for Cabanas were sued by his family.
One of the lawyers representing Cabanas eventually went to jail for "breach of confidence and fraud" and a new lawyer was appointed.
After all was said and done, an agreement was reached between the two parties (Club America and the family of Salvador Cabanas].
It is hoped that the agreement finishes the soap opera drama that has engulfed Salvador Cabanas, his family, and Club America.
