New England Patriots: Should the Pats Re-Sign RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis?
New England Patriots running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis, or commonly known as the "Law Firm," has really established himself as a quality NFL running back this season.
Green-Ellis rushed for 1,000 yards for the first time in his career, (this is only his second) and became the Patriots' first 1,000-yard rusher since Corey Dillon did back in 2004.
The Law Firm has yet to fumble the ball in his career. He is the ideal Patriots' running back. A hard runner that does not turn the ball over.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
However, at the end of this season, Green-Ellis' contract will expire and he will become a restricted free agent.
Once the season is over, should New England re-sign BGE?
First off, you should look at the team's other options on their roster:
Danny Woodhead, he's not an every down back, but he is your ideal third-down back and a perfect replacement for Kevin Faulk.
Fred Taylor has not been able to stay healthy in his time here in New England, so he should not be considered as a featured back.
So, there does not appear to be any potential replacement for Green-Ellis on the Patriots' roster.
One option New England can go with is the NFL draft. But, I can almost guarantee that head coach Bill Belichick will not select a running back in this year's draft, or maybe any drafts in the near future.
"Why?" you might ask. Well, two words: Laurence Maroney. Or might I say, a draft bust.
New England could try free agency, but they don't like to pay for big-name players, especially running backs. Running backs' careers are much shorter than other players, and the Patriots much rather stay with a running back by committee routine anyways.
When all is said and done, I could definitely see New England re-signing BGE for many years to come. Unless some other team wants to pay him a ridiculous amount, and if so, the Patriots will go in another direction.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis is the ideal running back for New England. He is a "north and south" runner and never turns the ball over (crossing my fingers).
Green-Ellis and Woodhead make a perfect two-back rotation. They're like thunder and lightning: Green-Ellis is the physical type, whereas Woodhead is more elusive.
There is no reason why the Patriots shouldn't re-sign Green-Ellis.
New England and BenJarvus Green-Ellis are a perfect match.
