Miami Heat: The Talent Is in South Beach But Where Are the Results?
The Miami Heat entered the 2010-2011 season as the most anticipated team of all time.
Many believed that with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh that it would be impossible to struggle. It was even predicted by former New York Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy that the Heat would break the single season record record for wins, and that they would not lose two in a row all year.
Well, 14 games into the season, the Miami Heat are underachieving with an 8-6 record, and have lost two in a row already twice this season. The question remains: What is the problem?
The problem is that it is extremely difficult to combine three superstars and expect them to develop a chemistry overnight. With players of the caliber of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, it is going to take time for that chemistry to develop. It may take some time during the season, or it may not happen at all this year and Heat fans will have to wait until next season.
The big three's numbers are down from last season, and that may take some getting used to for them. James, Wade and Bosh are all accustomed to being the number one option. Now with all three of them together, they are trying to get a sense of who that number one option is.
Earlier this season, James pointed some fingers at Coach Spoelsta, suggesting that he could possibly be spreading the minutes the wrong way, and that the big three are playing too much. That is not the problem. It is going to take time, but the Heat will eventually learn how to play together and develop a chemistry.
We all know the Heat are not going to finish 82-0 this season, but when all is said and done, they will be one of the top seeds in the Eastern Conference and they will make a run in the playoffs.
