Random Wrestling Thoughts: Benoit Movie, Hogan's Back, TNA, and More
There is a lot going on in the world of wrestling this week, so I felt like writing one big article instead of several small ones.
Benoit Movie
Someone optioned the rights to the Chris Benoit tragedy for the opportunity to make a movie or TV special at some point. Let's get it straight, they optioned the tragedy, not Benoit's whole life.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
So any movie would be about the murder/suicide story and nothing else. I personally think that not only is it too soon, way too soon, but I feel like it's in bad taste to make a movie about this.
The fact of the matter is that no matter what caused Benoit to snap that day and do the terrible things he did, there is no entertainment in it whatsoever. Movies are made to entertain and sometimes inform. What would making a movie about this tragedy accomplish other than making a few bucks for the producer?
I think it's a terrible idea and this is the last time I will talk about the subject.
Paul Bearer's Heel Turn
I am so happy Bearer turned heel and allowed Kane to keep his title. Kane has been dominated by the Undertaker too many times in the past and I am glad to see Kane finally get the push he has deserved for years.
When I saw Kane lose to Dolph Ziggler cleanly, I was pissed. I thought to myself that the youth push should not be at the expense of a veteran and monster like Kane.
WWE tends to make bad decisions, but having Kane be weak for so long was a terrible move. He was no longer the "Big Red Monster" when he was jobbing to guys who can barely take a proper bump.
Bearer joining Kane means that the WWE wants to extend this feud and I am fine with that. Kane and 'Taker have natural chemistry that has built over the years. They know each others limits and it allows them to put on a great match, especially because two guys their size almost never have good matches when paired together.
Kane and 'Taker are not normal big men, they are both right around seven feet tall and yet climb the ropes and jump off like guys half their size. What they both do is great and I hope to see more encounters between them in the coming months.
Maybe even a Wrestlemania match could be in the works for this feud. I know it's still six months away, but they could have Kane leave and return to take vengeance like 'Taker did recently.
Either way, I am glad for Kane's push.
TNA Recently
I have to admit that I haven't seen iMPACT in two weeks due to my work schedule so I have to catch up online, but I still know the product and performers.
One thing TNA does better than WWE is feature great tag team matches. One thing they do worse is build up to PPVs with feuds.
TNA has a ton of talent but only feature a percentage of them on a weekly basis. If they hope to compete with WWE then they need to get more TV time and start having more people participate in feuds and story lines.
I hate what they have done with Samoa Joe and A.J. Styles in recent months because they were my main reasons for watching a year ago.
I would rather watch the XFL on DVD than TNA these days, that's how bad I feel it has gotten. They need to realize that WWE castoffs are not the way to succeed, it's the way to become the next WCW, and I don't mean that in a good way.
Hogan's Back
Hulk Hogan underwent surgery yesterday to have a spinal cord stimulator inserted into his spine. It was reported that he re-admitted himself earlier today in extreme pain.
My heart goes out to Hulk. As someone with a lifelong back problem due to bad knees and too many martial arts classes, I know what kind of strain the smallest tasks can put on you.
I may not always like what Hulk does, but I respect and admire him for everything he has accomplished and contributed to the sport of wrestling. Without Hogan we would not have the same wrestling world we do today and that is a simple fact.
I hope Hogan has a speedy recovery and gets the relief he deserves.
The Miz and Daniel Bryan
I have liked this feud so far. I feel like the WWE is doing the right thing by pushing both men at the same time. While pushing Bryan as the new U.S. champ, they are simultaneously grooming Miz to be a world champion.
These two seem to have a good chemistry and I hope that at least one more match is in the works for these two guys.
On a side note, I love Bryan's entrance theme song.
That's all folks, thanks for reading and feel free to comment below.
