A Bad Month to Be a Westbrook
The past week may prove to cost both Westbrook brothers their jobs as NFL players, as Brian Westbrook has officially been released by the Philadelphia Eagles. Brother Byron Westbrook, currently of the Redskins, also sees his NFL future in jeopardy after being pulled over, arrested for, and charged with a DUI early this past Friday morning.
Brian has been a fixture in Philadelphia since being drafted 91st overall by the Eagles in 2002. While he's shown brilliance and tremendous talent as both a running and receiving threat, Westbrook has been hampered by injuries his whole career, culminating in several concussions suffered this past season. Westbrook has actually never played a full 16 game season, and only run for more than 1,000 yards twice in his eight-year career thus far. Westbrook is the second veteran running back to be released this season, with LaDainian Tomlinson having been cut by the Chargers just yesterday as reported by myself here .

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Brother Byron Westbrook is also becoming part of what appears to be a league-wide trend as the third NFL player in the past few days to be tied to some sort of Drunk Driving incident. Vincent Jackson just today pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and will face four days in jail. Dolphins CB Will Allen was also recently in the news after being arrested for the same offense. All three will surely face the wrath of NFL Commissioner Roger Gooddell, who will be looking to make an example after last summer's incident involving Donte Stallworth and the suspension issued there obviously didn't send a clear enough message.
