Fedor Emilianenko Vs. UFC
Fedor is known for his supernatural ability to with stand a beating and still be conscious enough to turn it around and win. Fedor has dominated companies of Srikeforce, Pride, and Affliction.
Fedor has a tremendous resume of dominating great fighters like, Big Nog (twice), Mark Coleman (twice), Mirko Cro Cop, Tim Sylvia, and Andrei Arlovski. He has proved to be one of the best fighters in mma today. However, have you ever wondered what would happen if the UFC could grasp this talented man. What if he fought Brock Lesnar? What if he fought Shane Carwin, Cain Velasquez, or Frank Mir? What about Randy Couture?
Randy Couture
Not as likely as it was a good while ago, but still draws attention when you mention these names together. Randy and Fedor attempted to get together a year or two ago and exchange blows, it never occurred.
Randy has recently moved back down to Light-Heavyweight. This makes this fight even more so unlikely, but if Randy hears of Fedor coming to the UFC. I believe he will be the first to ask and take on the abominable Fedor.
What a fight this would and what a talk it would create? Ultimately you would have to go with Fedor to be victorious.
Cain Velasquez
One of the least intriguing match ups for Fedor against the UFC. Cain does not draw as many fans as the other heavyweight contenders do. He is a wrestling based fighter, and can strik an occasional big stirke or two.
Cain still hasn't proved much to me, but he has proved he is dangerous. Cain has just not been around long enough to really draw me into a fight with him and Fedor, but this would be another real good fight for a Fedor debut.
Great debut fight for Fedor, but this should result in a Cain loss.
Shane Carwin
This fight would be very intriguing for any fight fan. Shane Cawin a less experienced fighter than most in the division, but has proved his unbelievable striking ability. Shane would want to keep it standing, but this isn't a perfectly safe place either.
Fedor is a great striker and could very well put Shane to sleep on his feet. Shane was wrong bad against Gabe, but did revive himself and get a beautiful knockout.
A tough fight for both of the fighters, but unless Shane can really get Fedor in a bad spot, he should fall just short.
Frank Mir
Out of the last three this would be the most difficult for Fedor. Frank could test Fedor on his feet, with his heavy hands, and improved striking ability. If it goes to the ground, Frank would fill at home and could have his way.
You should not underestimate Fedor's ground game, which is one of the most dangerous in the world. Fedor has only been beaten once and that was by a cut that occurred early in the fight.
The fight would be tough to choose between. Frank is a very strong and heavy handed fighter. He is obviously amazing on the ground, and has a real great stand up game now. He would be a difficult test for Fedor, and could result in a big loss for Fedor.
For a fast pick, I would go with Fedor by some sort of TKO. It is really the obvious choice when you think about the two. Frank has been tko'd several times in his career, but never submitted. Fedor has also won several decisions in his career, and this fight could result in one extra.
Brock Lesnar
The fight that comes to mind when you think of Fedor fighting the UFC. Can Fedor with stand the punching power? Can Fedor stop the strength of Brock? Can he defeat Brock? The question has raised eyebrows, and could raise a roar.
The fight would be lovely to see, and would get more views then nearly any other UFC ever. While watching Fedor fight Brett in his last fight, this made this fight even more fun for me. Brett is a big guy who is strong and hits hard, and he did fairly well with Fedor.
Brock is a bit stronger and is a better wrestler than Brett Rogers. So, since Brett did alright against Fedor, could Brock beat him.
I am a believer in size in the heavyweight division matters. That is why I don't believe Big Nog can compete with Brock Lesnar. Fedor is relatively a small heavyweight fighter. He is six foot tall and weighs around two-hundred and thirty pounds.
I believe that Brock might be too strong and powerful for him. I would go with Brock as a fast choice on who wins, but I do not believe Brock is the best by skill. Fedor has better stand up, better jiu jitsu (duh), and is even a far better competitor. Brock wins on strength alone, even though Fedor is incredibly strong also.
A move to the UFC would be intriguing and so would most of the fights he could take. There are a few where he would take over the fight in the first few rounds, and others where he could very well fall just short of a victory.
