Cincinnati Bengals Want to Make It Rain On Their Foes in 2010

David DanielsFeb 12, 2010

The Cincinnati Bengals had thirteen players arrested from December of 2005 to June of 2007.

It seems just like yesterday they were the laughing stock of the league.  Every sports show in America was required to make at least one Cincinnati Convict joke during their airing.

Don't worry, you'll be either shaking your head or laughing hysterically at your television screen again in no time.

If you thought it was funny last year when they signed Tank Johnson, you'll love who the Bengals are trying to reel in to Sin City now.

The Bengals have been reportedly interested in three players this offseason.

One is wide receiver Matt Jones.

In 2008, Jones was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.  After being arrested at gunpoint, police found cocaine and marijuana in his car.  He was also arrested in 2009 after he failed a drug test that showed he had alcohol in his system which violated his probation.

Another receiver the Bengals are interested in is Donte Stallworth.

In 2009, Donte Stallworth was charged with DUI and second degree manslaughter.  He ran into a pedestrian while driving drunk and killed him.

The third player that could be headed to Cincinnati is Pacman, I mean, Adam Jones.

Now, Adam Jones has gotten into too much to list all of his troubles.  From assault charges, to public intoxication, to the Las Vegas shooting case, Pacman knows how to find trouble.

In 2007, he was suspended for the entire season, the longest suspension given to a player in forty-four years.

I can see Marvin Lewis addressing the media about the signing of one of the above players and saying, "He fits in very well with our team, our front office works hard to get players that all have the same values on and off the field."

Just wait, in a few days, Michael Vick to the Bengals trade rumors will start to emerge.

On a side note, I'm sure everyone's heard the T.O. to Cincinnati rumors.  Adding that head case to a locker room of criminals isn't the best combination.  The one second Owens takes his drama too far; we may see a Washington Wizards locker room western shootout Bengals style.

Here is my bold prediction for the 2010 NFL season; the Bengals will field more players with a criminal record than any other professional team in sports history.  I guess that's not really a bold prediction, they might have done it already.
