The Inevitable Decision: Drew Brees vs. the Colts
Looking out my window I see sprinkles of snow spread across the Purdue University campus. As I look out, as I do almost every day, I am faced with a dilemma of epic proportions.
Do I root for the Colts or the Saints on Super Bowl Sunday?
I have been a Colts fan all my life. I can remember the days of losing seasons and blackout games.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
I remember the struggles that our team faced in the past, before the great one Peyton Manning arrived to save us. I remember thinking Marvin Harrison was the greatest receiver in the world.
I own countless articles of Colt's apparel and even a few autographs. My prized Peyton Manning replica jersey is one of the favorite possessions.
I remember having to listen to the games because it was not on TV. I also remember the epic rant of Jim Mora chanting playoffs. I can truly say I am a life long Colts fan.
Your probably thinking about now, "What is with the title then?"
See, first and foremost I am a Purdue fan. Purdue athletics have been a major part of my life since I was in diapers. This is where my dilemma begins.
Drew Brees went to Purdue and was my childhood hero. I remember those epic moments in close games where the crowd was obnoxious as we where "Feeling the Brees."
I was at the 2000 Ohio State vs Purdue game when Brees threw the game winning pass to Seth Morales to win the game and create a circus. I was blessed that day to have seats right where possibly the greatest single play in Purdue Football History took place.
I will never forget hopping over the bar and running onto the field like a mad hooligan, with my mother of course. These are the greatest memories of my childhood.
I went on to travel with the team to Pasadena, California, where I witnessed a heart breaking loss in the Rose Bowl, and the last game of my hero.
Drew Brees will always have a special place in my heart, for his showing of great courage and ability to pull through in desperate situations. To me I will always be a Drew Brees fan.
Now to the decision. I have decided that whoever wins on Super Sunday I will be happy. It is really the first year in a long time where I only wish for a good game, and not so much the outcome.
Drew Brees was my childhood hero, and I wish him the best of luck on Sunday. Along with Peyton Manning and the Colts. To me this is a Win-Win situation.
