Miami Heat 2010 Prediction (Make It Happen Pat Riley)

William SolorzanoFeb 1, 2010

Let's Go Heat! Let's Go Heat! The Miami Heat are 28-27 this season and they are going uphill as we speak. They have been an Up and Down roller coaster this entire season and are starting go up and might have semi-found a solution to their problems. They are at .509 at the moment.  Now their streak goes to +4 and finds themselves in 7th place after the win against the Nets (5-49) at the Izod Arena. The Heat did very poorly throughout the game, except for B-Easy and it got worse after, their star D-Wade got hurt with a strained left calf that and JO strained his lower back in a first quarter fall. D-Wade will be out for 2 games and the Heat are looking to sign a free agent to a 10 day contract and NBA Insiders are saying that they are looking to sign their former player Ricky Davis. Today all the rumors happened or they died at 3pm today. The Heat were not sitting ducks they were chasing after Stoudemire for the last few weeks with rumors spreading about the Heat trading Beasley were denied by Micky Arison stating and emphasizing that Beasley wasn’t even put out there the media did, Quentin Richardson and Jermaine O’Neal were being thrown into the rumors this weekend and beginning of this week and Suns were reportedly throwing J-Rich too. Then there were other rumors that the Heat was trading James Jones, Chalmers, Richardson, Wright for Stoudemire and someone else that was not named, and then the other rumor was that a 2010 First Round Pick, Beasley and Wright were being traded for Stoudemire, Haslem, and Cook were being thrown into talks but the Heat like Haslem and sees keeping Haslem in the near future (cough, cough 2010). The Heat also were looking into a smaller deal Wright for a protected first round pick in 2010 (so they would get out of the luxury tax on excessive payroll) Then today at dawn the rumors started again with Boozer and the Heat which ended at the end of the 2009 offseason. There were rumors that the Heat was trading Wright and Haslem, and a first round pick for Boozer. Comments by Riles on today’s trade deadline about D-Wade:

"We feel very strongly that Dwyane Wade is going to be back with the Heat," Riley said. "We feel very comfortable that Dwyane feels very comfortable in a city that's embraced him, that he likes.

"We feel very confident that we're going to be able to build this team back. And we put ourselves in position to do that."

The Heat had three players that participated in this past All-Star weekend. Daequan Cook participated in the Three- Point Competition to protect his crown competing against Paul Pierce, Chauncey Billups, Stephen Curry, Channing Frye, and Danilo Gallinari he fell short not even making it through the first round. Michael Beasley participated in the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam on the Sophomore Team last night. The Rookies ended the 8 year drought and the Rookies finally prevailed winning this past weekend 140-128. B-Easy (Dwight Howard's nick name for Beasley) scored 26 points and 7 rebounds (he tied with Brook Lopez in rebounds on the Sophomore team, Blair was the top rebounder in the game with 23 boards). Westbrook scored 40 points endangering his teammate Kevin Durant's 46 points (that is the most points made ever in the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge) that was accomplished last year. Tyreke Evans won the MVP of the game scoring 26 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals on the night he shared the spotlight and let Blair hold the trophy with him, who had a spectacular performance 22 points, 23 rebounds, and 4 assists. Dwyane Wade competed in the All-Star Game and won the All-Star Games MVP, winning a second big thing in Dallas (Dallas might’ve brought D-Wade luck again from 2006). D-Wade was the scoring leader with 28 points; Steve Nash was the assist leader with 13 assists; three players tied with the most boards at 10 Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh, and Carmelo Anthony. Reggie Williams from the Sioux Falls Skyforce was on the Eastern Conference D-League Team (the minor league team for the Miami Heat and the Minnesota Timberwolves). The East lost to the West 98-81. Reggie Williams started at SG and scored 17 points, he had 1 assist, and 4 rebounds. Former Heat player Earl Barron scored the most points at 20, Brian Butch lead in rebounds with 13, and Curtis Stinson lead in assist with 11. They better look into their not so distant future. Wade wants to stay but needs some help next year I can understand both sides Wade wants some more Star Power in Miami so the Heat can be a contender in the East and Riley wants Wade to extend his contract so he knows he's here to stay and be able to pick the players he wants to play with so then he can make a push to trade expiring contracts and start knowing what players he wants to offer a contract to this offseason. Wade has expressed again and again that the player he would want the most to be his partner in crime on the court would be Dwight Howard and his contract doesn't have the option to opt out until 2012 unless they trade him, but the Magic would be stupid to trade him and the rumor for the Magic is (which I highly dought is true) is that after the Wizards will be able to drop or buy out Gilbert Arenas's contract, the Magic will then try to offer a contract to him for a lower salary and apparently the Magic's GM Otis Smith is close to Gilbert Arenas so that makes sense. Read this article about what Otis Smith and Gilbert Arenas think about Arenas joining the Magic.

Well let’s look into Miami's 2010 future. Let's start with D-Wade he like I said before would like to play with Dwight Howard and Miami Heat's former coach Stan Van Gundy is with the Orlando Magic and he said that nothing is impossible after talking about playing with Dwight Howard, then Chicago (Chicago expanded their cap-space for next year today, by trading Tryus Thomas, and John Salmons) his hometown will make a push for him and Derrick Rose has expressed that he would be honored to play with Dwayne Wade, people say that him and Dirk would team up in Dallas yeah right after the 2006 finals I don't think the Mavs wants their Dream Killer D-Wade after most of the 2006 Mavs squad is still there, the Nets are going to offer him a max contract, John Wall probably joining the squad (predicted first pick of the 2010 draft), Devin Harris, Brook Lopez, and Wade likes the Nets organization and has no doubt that the Nets will recruit a great team next year. The Knicks are also going to offer him a max contract, along with some other big free agent but many players aren’t attracted by the Knicks as much as before, McGrady just joined so let’s see if everything works for him in the Big Apple. Knicks better hope he doesn’t criticize the organization because that would kill their 2010 hopes and dreams, and for them to sign another big free agent to a max contract they would have to get rid of David Lee. But Wade has expressed he doesn't want to move anywhere that's cold (money talks) but he says that winning is his number 1 priority last is money (will he say that after he sees all those commas), then you got the Heat which he says he wants to stay with and wants to be a player that stays on one team and hopes he can bring players to Miami and him a Pat Riley are really good buddies and Riley was able to give Wade a team in the 2005- 2006 season to lead to a Championship and he's the only one with a ring compared to Lebron, Melo, Josh Howard, so I see him staying in Miami because Miami has been able to give Wade what every NBA player wants before they retire a CHAMPIONSHIP RING! Miami also has Beaches, no taxes on salary, the Heat have bird rights on Wade (more $$$ than any other team), and Wade is loved here. Second on the list is Lebron James. I think if the Cavs don't win a Championship (which they probably will win for the James after getting Jamison and getting Big Z after the Wiz buy out his contract) this season James is bolting out of Cleveland hard to believe but its true (all circumstances expressed about Lebron James is examined in the point of view of Cleveland not winning in the NBA Finals). Then him and D-Wade will talk about joining a team together and I really don't want to see that happen because we will never see a D-Wade and Lebron James showdown for at least 4 to 7 years or longer like I said previously. Depends if they sign the same amount of time (which they probably will) or get traded (Yeah right). Pat Riley says Lebron James is first on his free-agent list after signing D-Wade (Of Course). So if by any chance Lebron does come to South Beach it will be because Wade is here and Riley convinced Lebron of the great future ahead for the Heat so then they'll be able to pick the players they want to play with. Yeah Stoudemire and Bosh would be more probable to come to Miami (Stoudemire has Miami as one of his top destinations in 2010), and Riley said he will not hesitate signing Bosh or Stoudemire, if they want to come to Miami before Lebron James’s answer. Who would hesitate? If Miami manages to get Lebron great but I will miss that great showdown. But if they don't Lebron will probably go to the Knicks or the Nets (most likely the Knicks even thought his good friend Jay-Z is a Co-Owner of the Nets) The Knicks are dying to get Lebron and tried to sign Jason Kidd after Lebron expressed his top choice to play with is Kidd, but Kidd criticized the Knicks organization. So Lebron might think twice before signing with New York and the Knicks will be too concentrated on signing Lebron or Wade that when they both don't sign with the Knicks they'll lose Lee and KryptoNate (who was just traded to the Celtics) in a blink of an eye. If Lebron signs with the Heat I see the Knicks getting Stoudemire and Nets getting Bosh along with, Devin Harris, John Wall, and Brook Lopez. The Knicks are doomed if they don't get Lebron. If Lebron were to go to the Heat everybody would want to go to Miami with D-Wade and Lebron. Now if Lebron signed with the Knicks then Wade will want Bosh to come to South Beach which is most likely going to happen. Stoudemire would probably go to the Nets or Knicks (Stoudemire and Lebron that would be a showstopper). Boozer expressed that his number 1 destination in 2010 is Miami and his #2 choice is Chicago. I don't see him coming but if he does I will show you the lineup for the Heat with him and now that they've been training Beasley as a Small Forward and a Power Forward, Beasley might not have to go. But I see Boozer going to Bulls and joining Derrick Rose; and the Heat let Beasley blossom at the Power Forward position to let him know he's their future at Power Forward spot, but Beasley knows that the most probable prospects for the Heat next year are at Power Forward, so he won’t be shocked next year (hopefully). But here are my rosters for the Heat if they sign Lebron, Stoudemire, Bosh, or Boozer.

Miami Heat 2010 Roster:

If the Heat get Lebron:

2010 Miami Heat (If Cavs lose in the NBA Finals):
Starters:
PG- Alston
SG- Wade
SF- James
PF- Beasley
C- Lee (or Horford if Atlanta is unwise to let him go) (Heat will try to get Lee they need a Center)

If the Heat get Bosh:

2010 Miami Heat:
Starters:
PG- Alston
SG- Wade
SF- Richardson
PF- Beasley
C- Bosh

If they get David Lee along with Bosh it would be:

PG- Alston
SG- Wade
SF- Beasley
PF- Bosh
C-  Lee

If they were to get Stoudemire:

2010 Miami Heat:
Starters:
PG- Alston
SG- Wade
SF- Richardson
PF- Beasley
C- Stoudemire

If they get David Lee along with Stoudemire:

Starters:
PG- Alston
SG- Wade
SF- Beasley
PF- Stoudemire
C- Lee

If they get Boozer:

Starters:
PG- Alston
SG- Wade
SF- Beasley
PF- Boozer
C-Lee

Rest of the Team in 2010 which I think is most probable:

Sixth Man- Udonis Haslem
Wright (Heat want him back and if Wade stays he stays along with Q-RICH)
Wells (Wade, Richardson, O'Neal showed interest in playing with him in the 2009 off season in Chicago, but the Heat were saving for 2010)
Richardson (Wade stays he signs)
Chalmers (The Heat want his competitiveness)
Jones (Non- Expiring Contract)
Cook (Non- Expiring Contract)
O'Neal (If Wade stays he signs and he signs for a lower payroll)
2 spots left on the roster: Will be filled by one of the 2 first round draft picks or by 1 or 2 of these free agents like:
Arroyo, Barea (if let go by Dallas and Miami attracts alot of Latinos and he also lived in Miami), Diawara (Heat's Expiring Contract), Joel Anthony (Heat's Expiring Contract, an amazing shot blocker and Defender), Mike James (played for Miami from 2001-2003, but might retire in 2010), Haywood (The Heat were intrested to trade for him but, instead he was traded to the Mavs along Caron Butler), Milicic (Yeah he's bad but they need somebody tall, Drafted in 2003 [same as D-Wade, Melo, Bosh, James] as the 2nd overall pick), Magloire (Heat's expiring contract, used to be an All-Star), Eddie House (former Heat player from 2000-2003, former teammate with Wade and Alston), A.I (He wants a ring and the Heat can give it to him next year), Steve Francis (he fell off the radar but the Heat had interest in him a year and a half ago but didn't have the cash), Tinsley (Veteran player almost came to the Heat in the 2009 off season and liked the idea of playing in Miami), Okur (Highly Unlikely because he is the top Center in the 2010 offseason, but fits the bill if the Heat want Bosh or Stoudemire to play Power Forward and we don't sign Lee), Camby (Unlikely because he is the 2nd top Center in the 2010 offseason, but fits the bill if Heat want Bosh or Stoudemire to play Power Forward and we don't sign Lee), Oberto (maybe possible Miami attracts alot of Latinos), Blount (former Heat player), Przybillia (tall, strong and a great scorer), Nate Robinson (possible, he would like playing in Miami),Shavlik Randolph (for a 2 or 1 year contract),Steve blake (Veteran player the Heat would look to push for),Reggie Williams (NBA D-League player that plays for the Sioux Falls Skyforce who are the Minor League of the Miami Heat and the T-Wolves he is a D-League All Star, leads the Skyforce in scoring , and is in 5th place in scoring in the D-League with 25.8 PPG. He is only a rookie in the D-League) Travis Outlaw(great player for the Trail Blazers so far this season), Channing Frye (Center, very good three point shooter, and spreads out the floor) , Kurt Thomas (Drafted by the Heat as the 10th pick of the 1995 draft) and Chris Quinn(Traded to have space to sign Rafer Alston). Oh and in 2011 the Heat are intrested in trying to get Butler but they might be careful because they might lose Beasley if they get Butler, Butler and Wade have kept a good friendship ever since his rookie year. Yeah Odom be jealous when we go to the Finals and the Lakers lose to the Heat and then you'll start regretting that you signed with the Lakers and not with the Miami Heat.

Heads up:

2011- The Heat will try to sign free agent Caron Butler (unless he extends his contract with the Mavs)

2012- The Heat will compete against the Thunder to try to resign Beasley and Chicago will try to resign Rose and the Thunder will try to steal him to bring some help to Durant, and Westbrook will be the Thunders' back up PG, unless he does amazing next season. The Heat will try to get some draft picks for some players to clear up the cap space for 2013 and try to trade some players for expiring contracts. Who ever has Lebron will try to sign Kidd for 1 year to end his career with the King. Thunder will try to get Mayo too, Durant wants a young team around him.

2013- The Heat will try to get Dwight Howard if they are able to move people around in 2012. Will CP3 and Superman team up together in 2013?
