Few Questions About Arsenal ...
It was quite revealing to read the reactions of fans after last night's loss. For once, very few people complained about bad luck, bad weather, bad refereeing or even the favourite "bus in front of the goal and long balls up ahead" excuse.
No. This time it was a lot to do with what Wenger is doing, or rather, not doing.
The cribs range from Wenger is a crap manager, slamming his selection, slamming his famed scouting network to questioning his tactical abilities during a match.I think, in all of this, what Gooners everywhere are struggling to find an answer to is what really happened on Sunday night.

There are definitely some points in the complaints and noises worth noting. Primary among those is the prolonged presence of Almunia & Denilson. What is it that Wenger sees that we don't? Surely, we have the money and brand image to attract a goal keeper. Why not David James for 6 months? Why not Akinfeev last summer? Why not Rene Adler? Instead, all we hear is that our young Pole Wojniech is future Arsenal #1. Again, the promise of youth delivering in future...
Second, why not a strong midfielder? We never tried to replace Denilson, or have a backup for Song. Granted, no one really expected Song to mature the way he has, but surely Wenger can't expect Song to play 40-50 games in the season. Denilson is not up to it. The way he fell over in the game against Everton was a sure sign of that, his injury notwithstanding. Is no one available to buy? If that's true as per what Wenger keeps saying ("ready to buy, $30 million available, but no players worth signing"), why doesn't he sign a few strong CB, and push TV to support Song in mid-field. He can do no worse than Denilson - hell, he'll score more goals for sure.
Talking about TV - at the back, we are all overjoyed at the TV/WG pairing, but how many clean sheets have we kept?
Up front, RVP proved (with a little help from the Dutch football bosses) that he can't be relied to last a season. Sadly, Eduardo, who I really rate, will never be what he was before his injury. So why didn't we buy Chamakh? Or Villa? Or Huntelaar? The way we were going in Nov/Dec, and the shambles the Kop are in, why didn't we make a move for Torres? What about Pierre-Gignac? Or give Nistelrooy a contract similar to Campbell?
So, does all this mean Wenger is too stubborn to change his views, and wants to stick buying young players? If Arsenal don't win stuff, those young prodigies will not want to come here, and other clubs will keep snatching them away.
Or *whisper* *whisper* - is it that Wenger has peaked at Arsenal?
And really, I also feel there is a little bit of lack of trust on the pitch within the team. I saw that twice - in the previous match when Arshavin didn't pass to Walcott, and again last night when he didn't pass to Nasri. The only persons AA-23 seems to trust are Cesc, Rosicky and Eduardo. I hope I am wrong, but 2 matches in a row have me worried.
I don't expect AW to answer these questions to me personally. But I sincerely hope there are actions taken to address the situation. Believe me, I can take it if we don't win this season, or even next. But what I cannot take is this seeming lack of ambition to give it a go...all I heard and read was we were not good enough. Well then, if we weren't, what are you doing about it Mr Wenger?
