Championship weekend is upon us, and after all the games are played we will find out who is playing in what bowls. It’s gonna start with a bang, too.

Thursday Dec 3

Oregon Sate at Oregon - The Civil War becomes the Pac-10 championship game this season. The winner goes to the Rose Bowl while the loser has to watch their rival celebrate. Also being called the War of the Roses or War for the Roses.

Friday Dec 4

Ohio vs. Central Michigan - MAC championship game. Two of the last three times these two have met Central Michigan has won pretty easily. Most recently, the game was only 31-28. This is something of a rematch of the 2006 MAC championship.

Saturday Dec 5

Houston vs. East Carolina - Conference USA championship game. East Carolina looks to repeat as the conference champions. Houston was the conference champion in 2006 but that was under their previous coach.

Cincinnati at Pitt - This has set up as the Big East championship game. The winner will take the Big East’s bid to a BCS game. Should things fall just right, Cincinnati is still alive for a shot at the National Championship game.

West Virginia at Rutgers - At this point, both are already going to bowls, it's just a matter of which one. Playing for position.

New Mexico State at Boise State - Boise State is looking to finish undefeated and I can’t say I don’t see it happening. New Mexico State shouldn’t be any problem.

Arizona at USC - For a time, it seemed like these two could have been playing to go to the Rose Bowl. Now the best either could manage is likely the Holiday Bowl.

Florida vs. Alabama - The SEC championship game. For the second year in a row it is No. 1 playing No. 2. It was a pretty good game last season. I would assume this years' will be decent too.

Georgia Tech vs. Clemson - The ACC championship game. Personally I just don’t find it as exciting after the losses both sustained last weekend.

Texas vs. Nebraska - Big XII championship game. Texas wins and they go to the National Championship game. If Nebraska wins, I assume the BCS goes into a bit of chaos and Boise State would likely be on the outside looking in again.

Wisconsin at Hawaii - Hawaii needs to win just to go to their own bowl game at home.
