Chicago-Toronto: Cubs hand Jays Loss, 6-2
The Cubs beat the Blue Jays on Satuday, behind excellent performances by Jason Marquis and Reed Johnson, who hit a three-run home run to give the Cubs a 6-2 win.
The Cubs got the scoring started in the second inning, when Ronny Cedeno hit a single to score Mike Fontenot. Later in the inning, Reed Johnson hit his three-run blast that put the Cubs up 4-0.
They added one more in the third on a Mark Derosa single that scored Derrek Lee, and another run in the fifth inning when Jim Edmonds was safe on a fielder's choice that allowed Lee to score and to give the Cubs a 6-0 lead.

Jason Marquis did not allow a hit until the fifth inning, going seven innings and allowing one earned run on four hits while striking out one and walking one to better his record to 5-3 on the season.
As for the Blue Jays, they scored on a bases-loaded walk to Matt Stairs that allowed Rod Barajas to score in the 8th. In the very next inning, the Jays added one more run on a Lyle Overbay sacrifice fly that drove in Kevin Mench.
Starter Ray Halladay put in five innings, allowing six runs (only two of which were earned) on seven hits while striking out five and walking one. With the loss, Halladay dropped to 8-6 on the season.
Tomorrow the Cubs will look to take the rubber match as they send Ted Lilly to mound who is 6-5 with a 5.13 ERA. Jesse Litsch who is 7-2 with a 3.42 ERA will go for the Blue Jays game time is set for 12:07 pm ct.
