Pro Wrestling Top 25 Points System
As announced yesterday, there will be an official Pro Wrestling Top 25 starting after this Friday's broadcast of Friday Night SmackDown! But there are those who are curious of how this will work. So as the first rankings prepare to be released this Saturday, I wanted to take a moment to dish out more info on this unprecedented event.
Points System
Unlike college sports, the only time a computer will be necessary is when a calculator will be used to tally up points. With so many match situations, it's easier to find a system that is both efficient and easy to understand. So at this time, here's how the superstars/divas will be scored:

Quick Examples
To further explain how this is going to work, I have included some examples of how the points system operates. For instance, if we were to grade Triple H's or John Cena's performance from this past Monday night on RAW, this is how it would look:
Triple H: 5+25+25+50+15+3=123+85=208. Only the grand total will appear, not the entire addition.
This means his appearance at the commentator's table, his match against Jeff Hardy, being the WWE Champion, type of match (regular or specialty), match loss, and strength of match.
After those numbers are added, you determine the strength of his opponent (in this case, Jeff Hardy) and add that number to the total to get the number of points that the superstar received during that week.
This does sound a little complicated at first, but the best part is that champions and No. 1 contenders are guaranteed points no matter the outcome of the match. But the real good news is that the points only determine half of their placement.
The other half is in the hands of you, the WWE and TNA fans. For instance, Kane, CM Punk and The Dirt Sheet (Miz and Morrison) scored more points this week than Triple H, John Cena, or Jeff Hardy. But depending on the number of fan votes, they may not get the top spot in the rankings.
As I said, this is still in the early stages. But with time, it will become something of an open forum so that the fans have a say in who is the best superstar of the week for a change. On Friday morning, I'll provide an example of how it would look based on fan comments and votes.
