Marcus Rashford, Michael Carrick Impress in Manchester United's Win vs. Watford
Manchester United ended their Premier League campaign on a high after Marcus Rashford scored the winner in a 1-0 victory over Watford at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Rashford netted the only goal of the match after 34 minutes and was one of several players drafted into a much-altered United XI, which included Scott McTominay, Marcos Rojo, Matteo Darmian and Sergio Romero in goal.
Michael Carrick impressed in his 481st and final Premier League appearance, helping set up Rashford's goal in what was his only league start of the campaign.

United end their Premier League season in second and 19 points off champions Manchester City, but they now turn their attention to Saturday's FA Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium and the chance to sign off their season with silverware.
Carrick Signs Off Premier League Account with Class
One would hardly think Carrick was 464 games into his United career based on the display he put in on what's likely to be his swan song for the club, showcasing some of the eye for perfection that's made him a hit at Old Trafford.
It may have been Juan Mata who got the assist to tee up Marcus Rashford inside the Watford box after 34 minutes, but it was Carrick's vision to release the Spaniard that caught the eye even before that. Journalists Rob Dawson and James Robson were among his admirers:
Nooruddean Choudry painted a picture of just how classy the English veteran looked:
Carrick has struggled with illness and injury all season long, making it all the sweeter to see a United legend give his admirers a Premier League send-off to remember:
Jose Mourinho may still find a place for Carrick in Saturday's FA Cup final squad to face Chelsea, although the Old Trafford applause that greeted his 84th-minute substitution spoke volumes of his status in Manchester, via Match of the Day:
Martial's United Future In Question After Going Absent
Anthony Martial's absence from Old Trafford was only too obvious for many in attendance on Sunday, especially after Mourinho had said the winger would start in the final game of the league campaign:
Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News reported an "unspecified injury" on Saturday morning was the cause of his pulling out late.
Speculation over Martial's future has been kicked up a notch this season, and many feel the 26 starts he's received in all competitions is too low for a player who was tipped for big things upon his 2015 arrival from AS Monaco.
An injury in such close proximity to a match is perhaps not unusual, but his absence from the match altogether perhaps is, and Bleacher Report's Sam Pilger hinted Martial could be Mourinho's next big starlet who realises his potential elsewhere:
He's not the only one with a question mark over his head before the transfer window, either, as blogger Liam Canning supposed the club could see a Dutch defender depart after Daley Blind made a rare start on Sunday:
Luke Shaw has been another player whose future under Mourinho has been questioned, and he came off the bench to replace Ashley Young, while Phil Jones was an unused substitute.
Marouane Fellaini is expected to leave when his contract expires this summer and wasn't involved in the squad against Watford, although he could recover from injury to feature in the FA Cup final.
Red Reserves Grasp Opportunities
With second place already assured and an FA Cup final in six days, it was no surprise to see Mourinho ring the changes for Sunday's outing, and several of those not often afforded starts impressed with their chance.
Rashford scored in his fourth successive start at Old Trafford, per Sky Sports Statto, on what was a fine last day of the season for England's 2018 FIFA World Cup striker hopefuls, per The Sportsman:
Mata also returned to the United XI and demonstrated his value by passing inside for Rashford to grab the winner, while it was at the other end of the pitch that YouTuber BollyLomo felt stand-in goalkeeper Romero impressed:
Romero pulled off one save from a point-blank Richarlison header that caught the eye in particular, while Luckhurst described a mixed display from centre-back Rojo:
McTominay had the pleasure of starting alongside United midfield legend Carrick as he bid farewell, but Robson suggested this possibly highlighted the need for a better replacement:
Matteo Darmian also produced a strong game and was WhoScored.com's highest-rated player on the day after he played the full 90 minutes at right-back, although this could prove to be his last outing for United.
