Draymond Green Says He Lives for Playoff Basketball After Game 2 vs. Pelicans
Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green expressed his affinity for playoff basketball after the Dubs beat the New Orleans Pelicans 121-116 in Game 2 of their second-round playoff series Tuesday to take a 2-0 lead.
According to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News, Green said: "I live for playoff basketball. It's the most fun time for me."
In Game 2, Green registered 20 points, 12 assists, nine rebounds, two blocks and a steal.
Guard Stephen Curry, who missed the first six games of Golden State's playoff run with a knee injury, returned Tuesday. In just 27 minutes off the bench, he scored 28 points and electrified the crowd at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.
Even so, Green was a key performer who had the best rating of any Warriors starter at plus-six.
Green has long been a well-rounded contributor, and he averaged 11.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.3 blocks per game this season. Those numbers are even better this postseason (13.3, 11.4, 9.0, 1.6, 1.3).
Green also brings unique defensive intensity and physicality. With the Houston Rockets potentially ahead in the Western Conference Finals, Golden State will need that to reach the NBA Finals for a fourth consecutive campaign.
