LeBron James Talks Lance Stephenson Antics, Receiving a Technical After Cavs Win

Scott PolacekApr 22, 2018

LeBron James has been to the last seven NBA Finals and knows what the main goal is during the postseason.

He explained he isn't going to let the antics and physicality of Indiana Pacers guard Lance Stephenson get in the way of achieving that following Sunday's 104-100 victory at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, which evened the first-round series at two games apiece:

However, James did pick up a technical foul during the contest after a back-and-forth with Stephenson. He had an amusing comparison for the incident that he described as Stevenson "fouling me to my bench" before James gave him "a little nudge," via NBA TV:

This is far from the first postseason rodeo between James and Stephenson. The four-time MVP knocked out Stephenson's Pacers in the 2012, 2013 and 2014 playoffs as well when he was a member of the Miami Heat.

Stephenson famously blew in James' ear during a break in the action of the 2014 Eastern Conference Finals.

He has been plenty physical with the Cavaliers' go-to option in this series and was successful in creating a jump ball in an important moment of Sunday's fourth quarter. Just for good measure, Stephenson held the ball up in triumph in front of the home fans:

Stephenson was involved in a controversial finish as well, although James wasn't directly part of the play. Stephenson took Jeff Green to the ground with Indiana trailing by three in the final seconds, although it temporarily appeared as if he created a jump ball. However, Green was rewarded with two free throws after officials reviewed the play, and he iced the win.

Despite Stephenson's efforts, James has dominated the Pacers throughout this series.

He had 32 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists in Sunday's win; a triple-double in Game 1; 46 points in Game 2; and 28 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists in Game 3. Stephenson may have drawn a technical foul during Game 4, but he and his teammates haven't prevented James from posting monster numbers to this point.
